ummmmm i know of a guy who is gay and was married to a woman when he was in the military to get everyone off his back when it came to hooking up with girls, since he couldn't actually tell them he was gay, and you could say that she reaped the benefits of the marriage. so it's not like you have to be gay to get a "free ride" in her eyes, lol. but it's one of those things that happens so infrequently that there's no reason to cut or refuse benefits to anyone just to save a couple dollars that are being abused. ughhhhh. and that's not even going into the fact that this is just a shitty and illogical reason to deny marriage rights to gay couples.

The discredited Regnerus 'study' did actually have one useful purpose - it shows that the marriages of gay people to straight people (forced by societal pressure) most often end in divorce, broken homes and potential poor outcomes for the children of such mixed-orientation unions. To prevent this heartbreak people should be allowed to marry the person they love, regardless of gender.

I want to hear the response of these ex-gay advocates to the simple question - "Would you like YOUR child to marry someone who cannot ever really be sexually-attracted to them?"

Thankfully they don't have kids, but yeah I'd love someone to ask a bigot that question.

I can't get over the ending stuff. And I kinda feel bad for her......there's a lot of fun to be had with non-PIV sex even if you're straight.

I saw that while my husband was active duty, too. It's not just for benefits, it's because they lived in fear of someone finding out they aren't straight.

Right.

I love that she thinks straight people are all of a sudden going to become pretend gay to get "good benefits" that majority of straight people already have... plus, don't if you have a spouse on your health insurance that cost more? It's not like gays are going to get some special health insurance that's the most amazing of all health insurances.

This lady. lol I just can't
