Nemo, Orko, what did we ever do to anger so many cartoon characters?

meanwhile the local mayor was referring to the storm as Snowtorious B.I.G.

I work for a local news station and I can tell you that all of our meteorologists are unhappy with the weather channel and their names. We are not using them and are not naming winter storms.

I moved from Tornado Alley to Florida which is Hurricane Country. I agree to leave the naming to Hurricanes only. No need to name blizzards.

Florida is bad enough as it is...trying to name sub-tropical depressions, clearly aching to relive the glory days of 2004 when we literally ran out of the alphabet and had to start with greek letters.

so no, i don't think this is a good thing. it'll get out of hand before they know it.

Fellow Vermonter, now living in Colorado. (Weather? What's that?) My storms were the Perfect Storm/Halloween Gale of October 1991, and the Storm of the Century/St. Patrick's Blast of March 1993. I? Was out doing my Essex reporter route.

The only reason I got snow days in either case was because they'd finally realized it made no sense to have the Essex JUNCTION kids wandering around a half-empty Essex Junction High School, having a day of study halls so the other kids wouldn't be a day behind, when Essex CENTER and outlying communities called out. My sister was in grade school at the time, and had school. It's been 20 years, she's still miffed at me.
