Glenn Beck announces plans for Independence, USA

Right-wing rabble-rouser Glenn Beck recently announced that he wanted to "go Galt" and create a self-sustaining community, inspired by the philosophy of Ayn Rand's character John Galt from "Atlas Shrugged."
The community will be known as Independence, USA. If and when it is completed, Independence will produce its own food and TV and film content.

Going off the article here it sounds like he wants a place that promotes local business over corporations and seems somewhat like a co-op. Isn't that the stuff he rails against?

that's what i was thinking. i had to check the source to make sure i wasn't being tricked by the onion. and him supposedly basing the community on ellis island is lol-worthy in more ways than i think the lj comment character limit would allow.

It was sounding kinda socialist up until that paragraph.
