Minnesota's marriage amendment fight funded by Catholics across U.S.

Catholic parishes and affiliated groups around the country are pouring money into Minnesota's fight to pass a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

They are shooting the principle of religious freedom in the foot, and I hope they're happy when their weakening of it comes back to bite them in the ass ( ... )

This comment is amazing!

It's actually been really surprising to find out how many people just don't stop to think that "marriage is between one man and one woman" is NOT a universally accepted definition amongst every single Christian denomination ever. Or that, as you said, this is an issue of religious freedom in a completely different way than they're being led to believe. A lot of people I've talked to who are "leaning yes" generally start with an argument that they're okay with LGBT folks having the same legal rights as straight married couples, just as long as the term marriage isn't used ( ... )
