But the Equalist foot soldiers are showing a few signs of Turok-Han syndrome-they started out as formidable opponents, but as the series goes along they seem to get less and less good at their jobs.

This is why I rolled my eyes when the air babies attacked. You're telling me 3 kids, all under the age of 14, with what I assumed was NO real world fighting experience, could take on a whole force of chi blockers with shock weapons? It was funny/cute, but it felt forced.

When he first appeared, you could understand where he and the other Equalists were coming from, but he’s quickly devolved from a character you could sympathize from into a monster, a boogeyman benders will someday tell their children about at night.I've felt this way for awhile, but not completely in regards to Amon. I wanted to know more about what got the Equalist movement started, about the conditions that led up to it. The show hasn't done a good job of this, only getting ONE episode where Tarrlock is abusing his power, and that's AFTER the Equalists have shown ( ... )

you could argue that the chi blockers didn't anticipate having to fight kids and made the error of allowing themselves to hesitate when the showed up. airbending is also one of the more dynamic and fast bending arts, it's pretty hard to get close to one. whenever tenzin's been taken out or when the equalists fight him they've used long range attacks (excluding when he was shocked in episode 6 but that was a surprise attack). take into consideration that airbending culture is still slowly being revived, most people wouldn't know how to counter airbending.

Hmmm true. At the time I think I was too distracted by Meelo's fart bending to think of those reasons.

I just saw "prissiness" in the same sentence as "Asami" and stopped reading.

welp I guess that goes to show how much of my energy I invest in reading these reviews in the first place, lmao.

still, they should have said "perfection" instead lbr.

lol I read it as prissiness too at first. still not over that one dumbass reviewer who doubted Asami's ability to cope with life in jail. UM girl looked pretty damn comfortable when Lin broke her out.

I think the love triangle is as much of a mess as the next person, but I DID appreciate that they have so far shown Asami's anger as being directed at Mako specifically, and not Korra. I was very worried they'd use Mako to drive a wedge between Korra and Asami, but other than early on in the series that hasn't really happened. So that's nice. It was nice to see Asami blaming and being short with the right person.

Even if the love triangle is still ill-advised and otherwise terrible.

I didn't even notice Pema's face when walking away from the Masami love feud. Lol!

Why did firebenders kill, like, everyone’s parents?

Access to club membership, imo.

but with Lin, I think that loss is even more poignant. She isn’t blind, but her bending granted her a form of sight. It’s like she lost her superpowers and one of her senses at the same time. I’m not confident we’ll see anyone get their bending restored this season, but I’m really hoping we see Lin rise from the ashes in the finale. She’s Lin Beifong! Daughter of ultimate badass Toph Beifong and Batman, probably. Even losing her bending won’t be enough to stop her.

I didn't even think about Lin losing part of her sight. :(
After she figures out how to take off her metal armor suit, I bet she'll be kicking everyone's asses with hand-to-hand combat or whatever. She and Asami can get it.

Yeah, I think people are counting Lin out way too easily. We're lamenting the loss of her bending, but that's not all she is, a bender, and I"ll be really surprised if she hadn't learned any other combat forms.

I really had a "how the hell is she getting outta that uniform?" moment a while after the show.

I still don't think her bending is gone, tbh, =P
