The Schalke signs mean "#STANDUP". It refers to this campaign:

It's against racism, of course related to the current refugee situation. Asamoah talks about receiving racial abuse in the beginning, and how much worse it's for the refugees than for him. The longer text is "Steht auf, wenn ihr Menschen seid", "Stand up if you're a human being", playing on the chant "Stand up if you're Schalke" (many clubs use a version of that one).

Bale is making plenty of money no idea why that's a good reason to choose one country over another. Those agents are all about the money.
The situation at chelsea is interesting.  Alienating people never works well in the long term. Mou should have realised that. Problem is of course that the team is failing all over the place. And no one is in shape. Of course they won the league last season but they ultimately limped to the finish line.

I've read several excerpts from Gerrard's book and they made me uncomfortable tbh. Hitting out on managers and players, revealing failures to attract players to Liverpool etc. ... Kind of weird that he decided to share all of this and so soon.

I was too tired yesterday to stay up for the 2nd half of the Milan derby, so I didn't see Balo in action. :( He had a good free kick, but that was a great save by Handanovic.

Yeah, it's a bit cringe jazzypom September 14 2015, 09:56:19 UTC
I mean, fair play to him for letting stuff hang out warts and all but... surely he could have held off until he'd retired from the game, or something? I can't bring myself to read beyond the headlines because cringe de la cringe, and I think some distance would have brought prespective. I can understand his bitterness and disappointment (Hicks and Gilette really screwed LFC over in a lot of ways, and gave Benitez and Gerrard baskets to carry water) but just--- sssshhhh, Steven. Ssssshhhh. Besides, you want to leave something for people to read? At the rate the excerpts are going, why should anyone pay for the book if everything is being given away for free?

The first one came out in 2006, I think? After England got booted from the WC.

If Newcastle beat West Ham today, Chelsea will be in the relegation zone.

Chelsea are so bad right now that people are actually talking about how Arsenal can beat them this weekend. Watch us lose 2-0 on horrific mistakes to them. I'm not optimistic because Chelsea and Mou are extra determined against us.

Chelsea needs a Drogba. or preferably THE Drogba. Right now there is no one there to... idk how to phrase it.. curb the egos and corral the players into an actual team. John Terry is not going to do it and Mourinho dgaf.

Also good ol Huntelaar. Misses penalties but expertly ninja kicks a corner flag.

There's no one at Chelsea who seems to feel the shirt. Terry seems to be looking out and about, because of his contract deal with Chelsea (I think due to his age, it's renewed every year?), and there are no academy talents who feel the club to fight for it either.

Yeah... idk. Mind you I do not follow them that closely but I question Terry's leadership, more so than his loyalty. Dude seems to just get by.

And IA - there's no point to really care about Chelsea for players beyond personal glory. After all, they could end up as mainstays or like Schurrle be benched for a year and then traded in for other models. It's all very disjointed.

Yep, look at Cesc. Was on fire till last December and then just went nowhere. It was forgivable because his form in the first half of the season helped Chelsea win the PL but this season, he's awful. I don't think I've seen him play this badly before.
