Just caught up with the latest Arsecast Extra episode: there's a strong likelihood that Per won't make the trip to Croatia as he has just spent the last EIGHTEEN days in bed recovering from a bad chest infection. I knew he fell ill before the Liverpool game and refused antibiotics, but I didn't realize he was that sick. Miss him. Thankfully, Gabby is a capable CB who's put in good shifts!
That will make the reddit people go off - even when he'd been out for barely a week, there were people calling him unprofessional, because clearly just because they had managed not to be sick for several years, everyone, no matter their circumstances can do the same. Or alternatively, if sick people can work in the office, clearly they can run around 90 minutes on a football pitch too.
Ironic too because he was in the top ten of most minutes played in Europe the last two years, and one of those years without NT matches. How unprofessional.
Putting aside the lazy clichés the media trots out in explaining in Chelsea's current form (the players lack passhun, Mou's third season curse, etc.), the simplest answer to Mou's current state of mind may be that he's merely human after all? See the Off the Ball podcast that aired around the start of the most recent international break on Newstalk, Miguel Delaney divulges that Mou's father has been having health problems the past few months. I'm not a Mou disciple or apologist, but this may explain why he seems distracted, somewhat out of touch and more moody than is the norm. The lacklustre form of the players just compounds the situation.

What bad luck, after having just recovered from his chest infection. I'm so glad he is OK.
