You did great on "Mönchengladbach"! English-language and other non-German media ignore the umlaut too, usually.

Something nice to look at: Jonas Hector's goal against Hoffenheim. Sorry for the quality, I hope I'll find something better to embed later.

He's quoted in interviews as saying "and at some point, I simply couldn't get out of the situation any more", bless him.

It's one thing if you're on a mac and you can press the o button until the umlat appears, but with Windows computers (the English ones) you have codes that you have to type in which is a nonsense, tbh. For Spanish alone there's about 20 codes I need to know for accents on letters, as well as the quotation marks - I can't even begin to imagine what you need for German or Polish.

Oh, I know! My keyboard can do the French/Spanish vowels, as some of them appear in German too, but I can never do any of the nice-looking Scandinavian ones.

At this site, they list number codes you type using the numeric keypad. Just press ALT + four digit number on the keypad. It's still far more of an effort than a Mac or iThing though.

My last Dortmund game for a month was shit jesscp April 13 2015, 10:06:07 UTC
we really needed Kramer to score an own goal again :( we are looking a bit lost again, I really can't wait for this season to be over it has been so problematic. In a way I'm glad I can't watch the next few games live, no one wants to be in a crappy mood on holiday.

Also I'm so sick of hearing about LVG buying Mats and Ilkay every damn day in the media. I do think Mats will be going soon but ugh.

Poor Man City, what a fall from grace. They really need some fresh talent in the team now, they can't just rely on Aguero to score week in week out.

Girl, I hear you. Between Liverpool and Tottenham, I'm trying to contemplate the virtues of sobriety. I refuse to go back to drinking because of my teams, but

I can't think of a German player who's plied his trade beyond the M25 in the last few years.

I think, after Didi Hamann, only Thomas Hitzlsperger played for a northern team in the PL. Started at Bayern before moving to Aston Villa's youth academy. He moved up to the first squad and played there for a while (watch a video of his, he has an odd Brummie-German accent). Went back to Stuttgart and Lazio and then moved to West Ham. Went back to Germany to play for Wolfsburg and ended his career at Everton in 2013.

Can too, but he's young and new :D

Can is young, why didn't I think of Can? But yeah, Can is at that age (21/22) when you come to the English PL, get your apprenticeship in, so you can hopefully plump for a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid (if you're Spanish or South American) or Bayern Munich (if you're German), but a player of Hummels age (26), you're looking for an establish place in an established team set up, and if you have a wife/gf they will stick an oar in (in terms of where they want to live, etc) like Sanchez's gf wanting to live in London (being one of the many reasons cited why he chose Arsenal over LFC- I think Wenger and CL action were bigger draws as well).

Crystal Palace are currently one of the in form teams. Makes me wonder if Pardiola is a good manager after all. He's injected life and enthusiasm into that team and Bolasie's hat trick was superb (took him only 11 mins). Sunderland are crap. They deserve to be relegated.

Aguero was the only one who cared out of the entire City squad. I've seen Gael when he was bad but he was terrible yesterday. I think that 7 million Arsenal got for him wasn't all that terrible now. Yaya was probably thinking of cake while out on the pitch. United were great. None of that idiotic long ball nonsense or over reliance on de Gea.

I wonder, what has made the Spurs go backwards? Some fans on the COYS subreddit think they got complacent after the North London Derby win.

No, I think the problem with Spurs isn't complacency as much as fatigue, lack of trust, youth and lack of options. Poch was mad after that Manchester United match when they got hemmed up 3-0 ( ... )

Another thing is, other teams have figured out Spurs' attacking tactics. I didn't watch the Villa match but from the highlights, it was quite obvious that they (and Burnley) were able to shut down Kane and Eriksen pretty quickly. Eriksen works well in space like David Silva but he's been stifled by the midfield/defense of the opponents. Kane too, he was made to look anonymous. I think, out of the entire team, Danny Rose is the only one who is doing something (and I'm saying this as someone who really can't stand the guy).

Lamela seems to be taking a time to bed in, and he's struggling.

I wonder how long it'll take for him. Rabona goal aside, he's not been impressive. He's a talented kid, shame if he doesn't end up doing well with the Spurs.

It's funny how Lennon is doing pretty well now.

Burnley and Villa pretty much overwhelmed the midfield, and if the midfield isn't working, you can't really get service if you're a forward ( ... )

I actually hope di Matteo doesn't get sacked. Schalke may be floundering ATM, but he brought them up from #15 to Europa League level in a matter of months.

yeah but tbf - that seems to be a standard Schalke thing. Play ridiculously ungodly bad at the start of the season, get in the top 5 by the end of it. I remember that happening last year too. :/

Malaga is no push over, and they tend to be a more physical team than people realise. Tomorrow's CL match will be very interesting, I'll say that.
