There are a lot of football clubs playing in red so why did Tan choose a club in blue? Also he doesn't seem like that great as a football owner.

There were some protesting the Christmas football in Belgium yesterday. They said that Christmas was a time for their family and not for football. But the Christmas football is there to stay, the fans show up and the viewing figures are good. There is however winter break after this matchday.
If the Premier League want to do a winter break, they probably need to get rid of one of their cups otherwise the schedule will be even more busy than it already is or the season would last too long.

As long as it's not the FA Cup, tbh. That's the oldest associated football competition in the sport, and a good way for the poorer teams to make some good money (from the TV rights, and tickets at the door). We will see. The FA seems to be changing the guard, and the younger ones so far seem to be pretty forward and admiring of certain activities on the continent - even though I'm side eyeing the Friday matches. Geez.

The question is of course if they are going to do that. But the Bundesliga teams have only 34 matchdays (18 teams) and 1 cup competition where there 6 matches to play.

The Premier League has 38 matchdays plus 2 cups with 6 extra matches each. Either it's getting rid of one of those or ditch a few Premier League clubs if you want to create a winter break.
