Oh Dortmund, their situation is terrible. But they are lucky that there is a Christmas break. They have some time to get out of the negative spiral and rethink their strategies.

It will be interesting to see what Arsenal is going to do. I still think that they need to upgrade their defensive midfield because it's such a vital position in current football. One of their biggest problems of the last few years is also that they cannot beat the big teams. No wins against United, Chelsea and City. Of course you can win the title if you beat all the small teams but beating the big ones gives you a mental edge too.

Benteke's goal, apparentely I can't embed so you take a look at the link

Because I'm a football fan and superstitious sort, I'd tell them bathe in the sea or something. Wash off all that bad luck!

Whoooo that goal was lovely. I'm sure van Gaal must have been grumpy about the draw yesterday after six wins, but it be like that sometimes. de Gea couldn't even move!

Lol. That might help. I'd definitely volunteer to help them in their cleansing ritual or something. :p

LvG is a perfectionist so every loss of points will annoy him. Benteke's goal was really good so if Man Utd wanted to win, they should have scored more goals.

With Liverpool they will have to stumble from game to game- no let up! You either swim or drown during the December fixtures. It's all a cram at this point.

But with BuLi and the month off, Klopp can probably take a step back, see the forest from the trees, and start to cull. Or even just reach out to an ambitious up and coming assistant manger for him to bring fresh eyes to the table. Lord, I hope they get it together. I can't have both teams in both leagues losing (at least Real Sociedad in La Liga seems to have stablised their freefall for now).

i really hope the break can do them good though. i hope it brings in them a new hunger and motivation to want to win, because lately it seems like they're just lost, not sure what to do. :/

Ramos heading them in this year. Some American parents want to ban heading from soccer. Oh

Well, I'm sure those parents are concerned b/c of the focus the other football has been getting when it comes to head injuries. It is something that does deserve more study.

And since pros can't even prevent knocking their heads badly when going for headers, I imagine it's much worse with younger players who are more advanced and going for lots of headers in games. It's not like there are really paramedic teams or a doctor at the field for most youth games, after all.

There would be a case for it. I think that the potential damage from 1 header in football is a lot lower than the damage from one hit in American football or Ice Hockey but a footballer probably heads the ball millions of times. And then there are the accidental knocks between 2 players when both go for a header.
I think they should forbid it for the kids.

I was just thinking of what happened to Dries in that CL game. Children being insured here is getting better, but if they weren't insured and had to go to the hospital, it could be pretty devastating for a family trying to make ends meet if they didn't qualify for some sort of financial assistance. There are no well-off clubs footing the bill for things like that, since most kids playing here are not doing it through an academy.

Of course, that's not going to stop kids from doing it, but it might cut it down a bit.

If a kid here in Belgium would go down the way Dries did, there is no doubt in my mind that he would go to hospital, get checked over and maybe even get a scan and a night in hospital, depending on the hit and the symptoms. Every kid who is a member of a football club is insured for that, it should be the matter for all sporting clubs.
And even if that doesn't covers it, people here are a lot more protected in terms of insurance and medical bills.
So for us it's more about preventing the long term complications and brain damage.

But I understand that the situation is different in other countries so maybe it would be a better idea to just ban it altogether although it would be massively difficult because it would change the game.

I'm still bitter over Ozil's transfer. He seemed to really love RM and his teammates.

His father seemed to have done the best for himself, and not his son, tbh. At least if he had an agent who was an agent, he would have tried to do the best for his client's career. Özil's dad seemed to want a pay day. :P

I think he misses um Khadira (sp), he doesn't really seem to give others shoutouts. But to be fair, with Real Madrid's galacticos policy, Özil might have been shunted out anyway. Sami Khedira is still trying to have a look in at game times at the club. So.

It's a damn shame, because he sure as hell wasn't done at the club imo. I'd be kicking myself if I were his dad, tbh.

Idk, I always got the impression that he was pretty close, or at least had a great working relationship with most of the guys. During the WC, he would tweet all his former teammates before matches, and it warmed my cold little heart.

Aww, poor Dortmund players. Them just sitting there... it's obvious that they want to do it, they just seem no longer to know any more how it works.
