heh ... oh dear! Pellegrini reminds me of Celtic that before the CL qualies started argued that they should automaticly qualify for the CL because they won their league ... and than they got trashed by Legia Warsaw only to be reinstaled because of Legia paperwork fuckup and than again lost to Maribor. Nope dear friends, being a chapmion of your country does not automaticly means that you are the best. If City beats Bayern and advances far in the CL I'm sure their raiting will go up. This ranking is about consistency and results in CL and City seems fails to deliver in Europe hence their standing.

If it's about being the best then they should change the name of the competition. I know my team isn't as good as Arsenal or whatever, but we were the champions, and us, and all the other teams like Dinamo Tbilisi and Strømsgodset are the champions of our respective countries, and if we were automatically allowed in then it would give a little meaning to the competition being called the Champions League. But we're not. Some 4th placed team competes in the competition because their league is better than the Scottish one, or Norwegian, or the Georgian one.

I'd rather see champions playing in the Champions League, but that's just me. Guess us lot that aren't very good will just play in the Europa League with mid-table German, English and Spanish teams. A second-rate competition for first-place (small) league finishers - it's actually quite funny.

didn't he also complain yesterday that the ref sucker and let allowed two goals for arsenal that should be discounted? stop complaining and do your job.

Pellegrini should let his team perform better in the CL. Once you do that your ranking improves as does the seeding.
If they are the best team, they should have no trouble qualifying.

This group is quite dangerous for Bayern as they are still struggling massively with injuries. It's difficult to say what level Roma is on.

It's very easy to say 'perform better' but different seedings would benefit this. It remains a never-ending cycle because groups like this will prevent City from getting points in the system because of the difficulty level of their groups, which prevents them from reaching first and getting "easier" opponents.

The point being made is that seedings should benefit the actual champions, not just the English champions, but all other champions in the continent.

Putting champions in pot one will prevent City's CL group from happening, where City, Bayern Munich and CSKA Moscow are all in, because they would all arguably be in Pot One and will not be seeded together.

I'm not sure. Of course it would prevent Bayern-Man City in this season because both are the champions ( ... )
