that's pretty backwards. they should work on improving the leagues instead terminating them.

Yeah - and in the '30s and '40s when the Canadian men's hockey team was winning the Olympics with scores of 60-0 no one talked about removing it.

They wanted to use the cigars and beer celebration pics of the Canadian women's team as an excuse - like the women weren't allowed to celebrate like ordinary people.

I agree with your comment 100%.

Fucking disgrace.

well then men's football world cup should be gone because out of all the countries that compete, a very select few seem to either keep winning it or have won it. such ridiculous thinking!

I absolutely was in love with the LA Sol. When they folded, I was heart broken, really. Then I moved on the next season to FC Gold Pride, since they were the other California team. Then they folded and I told myself I was done with WPS because I didn't want to get attached to a team only to have it fold a season later. Then after the WWC, I convinced myself to watch the rest of the televised WPS games. While I won't personally miss WPS, because I'm not that into it anymore, I think it's necessary for the USWNT, and young female soccer players in this country, and I think these women are strong, female rolemodels.

lol I feel like half of that didn't actually have anything to do with anything, but oh well.

No, your comment was pretty spot on. If this league doesn't exist anymore, a lot of people are going to be in the same boat as you- they'll get fed up, frustrated, and lose interest, and even if a new women's soccer league league rolls around (there's been talk that the W-League will go pro by 2013), they'll be hesitant to start supporting a team. It's just a viscous cycle lol.

I've also heard WPSL might go pro in 2013.
