Carlos Tevez has been suspended for two weeks by Manchester City. The Blues confirmed the news this evening following a telephone conference involving senior staff, including chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak.

The suspension comes in the wake of Tevez's refusal to play against Bayern Munich yesterday and seems certain to be the start of a drawn-out ( Read more... )

It's so ridiculous that a man being paid upwards of 150 to 200,000 a week is refusing to do his job. And then to come out and say it was a misunderstanding? I hope City back Mancini in this and ship him out as soon as they find a place for him.

I kinda feel bad for Mancini though, being disrespected by his players...
Smh.

Judging by Dzeko's behavior, and Tevez, and the way City simply lost it in the 2nd half yesterday, I'm inclined to think that Mancini himself is a bit bonkers & not a particularly good man manager. The dressing room must be against him at this point.

Suarez kicked a bottle after he was subbed in the last game, but it might happened in City's game as well, Idk.

He carried City last year, then managed to fuck things up totally, which seems to be a pattern for him at every club he's ever been at. What big team is going to want such a difficult player?

Corinthians wanted him, City refused to sell. I have no doubt he'd be happy in Brazil and Argentina.

My take on him is that he's likely to manufacture a crisis anywhere on the planet, but I suppose that Corinthians are aware of what they'd be getting into if City dumps him & he ends up there.

Eh, I don't think there's enough evidence for that. All of his problems have been in Europe and related to his family/depression.

And it's also worth noting that he played his ass off for City last year despite being miserable. Many players would have half-assed it.

Sky sports reported a statement by him where he said it was confusion and he was warmed up ready to play and blah blah

if it was a refusal, he should get punished. he's been a twat lately and yeah he was a big help last year but now aguero is there so move over, tevez haha

I don't get that statement. If he was warmed up and ready to play and Mancini wanted to put him in the game then where is the confusion? It would seem then everyone was on the same page.

i think he's just backtracking. some sportscasters have said being man city's golden child went to his head. he thought he could behave any way he wanted to and get away with it. especially since balotelli behaved bad and yet still got playing time. then silva and aguero came and mancini cracked down on antics (including balotelli showing off in that one game instead of going for a clear goal shot). so now he realizes people are in front of him and his performance has been lackluster so he's not so golden anymore.

I hope Mancini gets his point across. His after match interview was so sad because he honestly looked so upset. Hopefully the other players will take note and see that shit like this won't be tolerated.
