Carlos Tevez has been suspended for two weeks by Manchester City. The Blues confirmed the news this evening following a telephone conference involving senior staff, including chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak.

The suspension comes in the wake of Tevez's refusal to play against Bayern Munich yesterday and seems certain to be the start of a drawn-out ( Read more... )

Sky sports reported a statement by him where he said it was confusion and he was warmed up ready to play and blah blah

if it was a refusal, he should get punished. he's been a twat lately and yeah he was a big help last year but now aguero is there so move over, tevez haha

I don't get that statement. If he was warmed up and ready to play and Mancini wanted to put him in the game then where is the confusion? It would seem then everyone was on the same page.

i think he's just backtracking. some sportscasters have said being man city's golden child went to his head. he thought he could behave any way he wanted to and get away with it. especially since balotelli behaved bad and yet still got playing time. then silva and aguero came and mancini cracked down on antics (including balotelli showing off in that one game instead of going for a clear goal shot). so now he realizes people are in front of him and his performance has been lackluster so he's not so golden anymore.

I hope Mancini gets his point across. His after match interview was so sad because he honestly looked so upset. Hopefully the other players will take note and see that shit like this won't be tolerated.

Mancini has such a bad record with players, though, I'm sure he's played a role in this.

I honestly don't think that has anything to do with it. Tevez has wanted to leave, desperately, almost since he came. He didn't want to be there last season, but he played his ass off despite being miserable and was the most valuable member of the team. He desperately wanted to leave this summer and was close to a deal with Corinthians, which would be much closer to home, and City shut it down. He wants to go home. He doesn't care about glory; he was #1 last year and still wanted to leave.

Hopefully in Jan another club will want him and Mancini will let him go, even if financially they don't make out as well as they hope. The club has money and it's not worth arguing over his price and the stress of keeping a player that hates it there.

The way he was acting didn't look like a misunderstanding. :/
