Oct 07, 2010 20:08

Last week, Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), reiterated his belief, first spouted in 2004, that openly gay people and unmarried straight women who are sexually active shouldn’t be allowed to teach in schools. WTF, is he stuck in 1910? He should snap back into reality right now. Because homophobia and misogyny are uncool and we should be over it by now [I wish...]. And I don't know how many gay teachers there are because back when I was in high school, everybody was closeted, but if unmarried women shouldn't be teaching, there will be a lot of empty schools left.

I have found a distinctly bisexual loophole in his delusional ramblings.

the thought of an openly gay or lesbian president is enough to make him want to vomit.

The thought of a bigoted, hateful man like Jim DeMint holding public office makes me want to vomit.

I hope he finds out that there are plenty of gay/lesbian/unmarried and sexually active women teachers out there at the same time we get a gay president/one who comes out as openly gay, and the searing blaze of reality causes him to spontaneously combust. Or puke up his spleen. Either way.

He's probably just cool with male premarital sex, if he's anything like the asshats I know. For men it's 'natural', for women? It's 'irresponsible'. 'Cause she can have BABIES.

Okay, Mr. DeMint: how the fuck is someone's love life/sex life is relevant to their ability to teach or hold public office?
