her earliest textbooks on puberty have included, perforce, eye-opening and often upsetting information on everything from the transmission of HIV to the range and expression of sexual orientations.

wait is she really saying that comprehensive sex ed is a bad thing?

I think she is saying its more upsetting if we read it in books than if a doctor gives a diagnoses?

I'm sorry but the only thing that stupid T Swift song does is teach women to hate each other.
I couldnt read after that.

What song? I want to go listen to this thing that's causing so much controversy, I've never even heard of her.

Those lyrics quoted at the beginning of the article ("She wears high heels...") are from Taylor Swift's song "You Belong With Me", here's the video which has that tired Madonna/whore bullshit going on, setting the brunette bitchy cheerleader ("the wrong kind of girl") against the blonde virginal geek* girl

*geek in the Hollywood "glasses and ponytail on a conventionally pretty girl" sense

heres a link to the video.
It really ticks me off because the entire thing is what many of us fight against every day-- the idea that women are inherently to blame, that a relationship wouldnt have problems if she wouldnt be such a bitch and try harder, that girls can be pigeonholed as "cheerleader" or "pretty" and that is the only meaning they have as a person. Oh and it has that BS competitive and pathetic tone of, "I'm not one of THOSE girls"

Haha, I'm just mad though cause I was the girl in HS who was always hated cause I had boyfriends.
