A colleague, Corinne De Parmentier, said: "We have to free women of this burden."

Because of course they'll be delighted to be "freed", instead of being confined to their homes because they are forbidden from freely practicing their religion.

The question is, is it really out of free will? I think that's what people ask themselves a lot with this stuff.

I hate that people cannot take the time to think through "hey, let's do something for women" and go through the consequences and ramifications of their actions. Forbidding women from doing something, regardless of the socio-political ramifications, is not exactly progressive.

I was reading the paper and apparently 80% of Canada and 95% of Quebec supports the ban. :\ I'm so disappointed in my country.

"We have to free women of this burden."
by giving them an even greater burden.
