GUYS. GUYS. I'M REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS FILM. But I'm always saddened by the tragic lack of Sam Rockwell. He never seems to be in any of the promotion for it. D: I guess it's because his character probably isn't in this scene BUT STILL.

And clearly Tony loves Pepper. End of story.

i have a feeling sam'll have a decent role either in this film or the next, the character he plays is a pretty BIG char~ so i feel you on the lack of him in the promotional stuff.

Oh no, I know he's a big character which is part of the reason why I'm sad he's not getting as much publicity as he should (plus Sam Rockwell is awesome). His character hasn't really been present so far in the marketing of this sequel so maybe he'll have a relatively "minor" but important role in this film (tied with Whiplash, teaming together against Tony, etc. but clearly Whiplash is being painted as the lead villain) and have a bigger one in the third?

i hope its a build-up to hammer's significance in the franchise. though, they've been clever with the dropping hints of who and what is to come for this franchise. 2 hint drops in the iron man film itself for whiplash (they aren't obvious hints, but they're too convenient now, with knowing whiplash is present in this one). and they've made a few hints to the mandarin - though you never know how they'll play that out.

i'm kinda glad that iron monger was sort of supposed to represent some aspects of the crimson dynamo and i do wonder if whiplash is as well... and they're just going to build hammer up to what he should be by have focus on whisplash for this.

sidenote: i agree that sam rockwell is epicsauce.

jumping in to say that from what i've read on wikipedia, hammer's purpose in iron man 2 is pretty much as a screwball, comic-relief villain. the direct quote (from rockwell himself) is "plucky comic relief, but he’s got a little bit of an edge." honestly i'm not sure how i feel about this -- hammer is a very formidable rival in the comics, so i'm a little disappointed to see they'll be bringing him in this direction.

as for the mandarin, they dropped so many hints in the first movie (the "ten rings" and the ten ring's leader's obsession with genghis khan being the most obvious), and he's been such a recurring villain in the comics i have a hard time believing he won't be the villain in the third movie. i for one am really looking forward to that.
