Being carried in his arms, she grew sleepy. He was warm. As they walked, she fiddled with the buttons on his trench coat. She nuzzled her head against him. This was nice, him carrying her. He smelled nice. Slowly, Jinx's eyes closed and then next time she opened them she was being moved so he could get his keys. She was actually startled by him, fidgeting in his arms. Before she could throw herself away from him, she remembered who he was and what had happened. Calming down, she relaxed back against him. Watching him kick off his shoes, to follow suit, she slipped off her platformed boots and they fell to the ground with a loud thud. They were both Japanese. It was a cultural thing

Jushirou came into the foyer with a serious look on his face. When he saw his friend and the girl he had told him about over the phone and his look softened a bit. One so young...she seemed as weak as Shunsui had made it sound. The soup and tea were still cooking though, but for now they could make her comgortable.
"I've set up a bed on the couch in the living room. You can take her in there," he said softly, his voice quiet. He couldn't help but be reminded of how the Ainu found him in his childhood...a stray brought in from the cruel world outside.
He gave her a polite bow, though, remembering his manners. "I am Jushirou Sogyo, welcome to my home."
Leave it to Jushirou to think of everything. He shot the man a grateful smile along with a nod of compliance. He knew Jushirou had such a soft spot for young ones, as well... it was just the trace of something else in the man's movements that worried Shunsui a little. He was allowed to worry, wasn't he?
Now he had to worry about getting Jinx settled in. Having Jinx in his room would have made her easier to watch over, but Shunsui imagined that would come off as entirely improper to the rest of the world.
With the first thing Jushirou ever said to her, Jinx felt a wave of disappointment. He had set up a bed on the couch in the living room. It was a nice offering, a good place for her to rest. But she had been looking forward to sleeping in a bed with Shunsui, pressed against the warm body of a man. Blushing, she tried to hide her sigh of disappointment. Maybe she could play the card of being too frightened to be alone. Then again, it may have been best with the nightmares she was having. Yet she may get the urge to run away in the middle of the night, to go on the search for Gin
