Ulquiorra had made all the arrangements he could. The apartment building was Monacello owned, which was why he lived there and not the compound. This way he wouldn't have to pay for all the damage. The water had been turned off, and he would need a new place to stay. He had gotten a lot of swearing from the man who ran the place, and had been told to find a new place to stay. It was either go back to the compound or stay with Kairi, and he was really hoping for the latter. He couldn't stay here anymore. The memories, he knew, would haunt him ( ... )

Kairi turned to the right of her at the sound of Ulquiorra's voice, and she could feel her heart rate quicken as she stopped. She didn't want to see the state he was in, she really didn't, but she knew she had to endure it for his sake. Taking a deep breath, the teen walked into the bedroom ( ... )

Ulquiorra watched Kairi wide-eyed as she came into the room. This was why he hadn't wanted her to come. The sight of her choking on the smell and her own tears hurt just as much as his wounds, if not more. He had gotten off easy in the way of physical wounds, after all. The emotional trauma had been much more intense. But that was easier to hide from Kairi. Right now it seemed she needed his strength as much as he needed hers ( ... )

Kairi could only nod as he spoke, her eyes traveling to the bag in the corner when Ulquiorra pointed to it, then looking back to him. She was still trying to take in all of this real life business that was happening, the business she didn't want to be happening.

Sighing shakily and regaining her composure silently for a moment, Kairi pulled out out her phone with her free hand and hit a button on her speed dial. She didn't care who she got a hold of, as long as they had a car and they were willing to do this for her. "I'm going to call someone for a ride," she muttered to Ulquiorra, forcing a small smile as she squeezed his hand and held the phone to her ear.

"This is Captain Kirk, leave a message." Axel. She sighed again, hoping, just hoping he'd be willing to help her ( ... )
