WHO: Kairi (
memoria_persa ), Ulquiorra (
sfigato_quarto ), and an eventual cameo by Axel (
axelled).
WHAT: Kairi heads to Ulquiorra's apartment to retrieve him.
WHERE: Ulquiorra's apartment, then Kairi's house.
WHEN: This morning, July 2nd.
When Ulquiorra had made that post directly through the network, she had a feeling something was wrong. Had he and Grimmjow gotten into another fight? Had they been hurt badly from it? And not seeing anything from Grimmjow had unnerved her, too.
Until she asked Ulquiorra about it all, and everything she had thought happened, she realized, did. The fight, them getting hurt-at least Grimmjow was safe and being taken care of by Rukia. So Kairi was the one left to take care of Ulquiorra, and it didn’t bother her one bit.
The only thing that bothered her was what sort of state his apartment was in and that he lived in Monacello territory, but the latter only vaguely. She didn't have the right to question him.
And she couldn’t question exactly what the state of the apartment or why he lived so far in that territory anyway, when she grabbed her cell phone, slipped on her running shoes and left her house. Normally, she would’ve left a note for Saïx with Ulquiorra’s address on it, stating that if she wasn’t home by 9 pm, to call someone for help unless she called to tell him otherwise, but with the blue-haired male going away for a few days, she didn’t even have him as a backup, just in case. After all, one could never be too careful in a place like this.
To say Kairi was worried would’ve been an understatement. She knew firsthand that horrible things could happen within a short amount of time. After all, that day three years ago, she had only been gone for an hour, and then her adoptive parents were gone. This worry of course forced her to run down the streets, mumbling apologies to people she bumped into as she made her way through the neutral part of Reggio Calabria to Monacello’s territory. She really needed a car, she decided.
Upon arriving at the apartment complex, Kairi dashed up the stairs, her lungs burning from running as she inhaled sharply with each step. Once she got to the third floor, the teen tossed all mannerisms aside and threw open the door, gasping and doubling over, half out of exhaustion and half from the sudden wave of nausea that hit at the sight of the apartment’s state.
The smell of the blood was what got to her first, since she had inhaled deeply just as she opened the door. As her eyes searched frantically for her friend, the sight of the dried blood stains on the walls and floors, along with the torn up wall and pulled out water pipe that was visible from where she stood brought on a second wave of nausea. The images of what possibly happened weren’t helping, and just the fact that it could get so bad brought tears to Kairi’s eyes. When she had intervened and tried to help the two males, this wasn’t the outcome she had in mind.
“Ulquiorra?” Kairi called as she took a few steps inside, her voice cracking slightly from her tears, strained with worry, and hoarse from her exhausted breathing. Painfully clearing her throat, she called his name again, her voice quality and volume improving only a little.
She walked carefully through the kitchen, wiping her tears away and avoiding what damage she could, and then took a right, finding that wave three of nausea was smacking her right in the face. It was even worse in the living room than it was in the kitchen, what with the blood smeared all over the walls, and she noted the section of ceiling that was collapsed and on the floor. The redhead carefully kept her gaze averted from anything that was that disgusting rust color of dried blood as she traversed through the living room, looking for any sign of Ulquiorra as she called his name again, her voice still as horrible sounding as it was before.
