WHO: Alucard (toothsomehound) and Barrel (dedsies) WHAT: Taking candy from strangers WHERE: The graveyard a little past the piers WHEN: Day 152, near midnight
Deranged? He was, and that was no secret. Barrel would gloat about what he did if he could, but he needed to gain the vampire's trust before taking candy - whether it be sugar or illegal. That included dressing up just like he promised, and only bringing a dagger hidden in his boot for safety purposes. There were a lot of weird people at night~
He took the bus to the piers, and walked the rest of the way to the graveyard. He knew the place. Barrel often dumped some of his animal carcasses here after dealing with him. It was familiar as the streets and alley ways in downtown Reggio Calabria. He affectionately ran his hands over the tombstones, and looked around with sharp eyes for his friend.
Alucard, enhanced for this precise thing, saw Barrel before Barrel saw him. He contemplated two courses of action, watching the way the boy's gait shifted as he entered the graveyard. Yes, he knew this place, and well. Luckily, Alucard did too, often getting to his favorite moon-watching spot through a dent in the back fence. His mind wandered back to what he could do- wait for Barrel to find him, perhaps impressing upon Barrel that Alucard could only be found if he wanted to? sneak up on Barrel from an unexpected angle, implying that he'd been behind him the whole time? or even better (Alucard's expression darkened pleasantly)... walk up to Barrel in a very human, very mundane fashion, acting as if he was as feeble as any other human in this city.
Yes, he decided, rolling his shoulders, that was the path to take. "Here," he called, rearing up out of the darkness. His eyes glinted hard red behind the brim of his hat, and he held out the little bag of candies temptingly. "I see you are a prompt young man."
There was the crunching fallen leaves and grass behind him, then a smooth voice piercing the crisp air. Barrel shivered slightly, and wrapped his scarf tighter around his neck before putting on that wide, wicked smile. He turned around with open arms.
Cocking his head to the side, Barrel studied the man and his unusual dress. It was different. It was horrifying~ and he looked trustworthy. There were a few suspicious bulges, but everyone was suspicious and that was cool too.
Barrel wasn't so innocent either.
"I always come on time for my goodies," he cackled, holding out his hands. "Trick or treat?"
Alucard's keen eyes picked out the shiver- some repressed fear instinct, possibly, judging by the tightening of the scarf. Or it might have been cold- it was hard to tell. The weather was unusually brisk, after all. Either way worked just fine for him.
Barrel didn't seem to carry a gun, and that surprised Alucard- he had to wonder, cautiously, if the boy was possessed of any unnatural abilities. In hand-to-hand combat, he was capable, but far from an expert. However, Alucard was known in some areas as a demonically fast draw, and that ability carried him into the movement of pulling a candy out and placing it in Barrel's cupped hands. "Treat, and perhaps a trick. There is more, of course."
