Reviewing the team Lieutenant Zhang had assembled, Uryu had to admit, he was a little surprised that he was the "muscle" of the group-- at least, insofar as he and their commanding officer were the only ones with superhuman abilities. Still, he knew better than to underestimate his teammates-- after all, it seemed this would be a battle fought more in the digital realm than the tangible realm, and the Quincies themselves were, before him, perfectly human men and women. Still, he'd do his best to hone his own skills and pick up new ones from his teammates. Truthfully, he was glad someone was finally getting on this, especially after Inoue had been struck by the mysterious hacker, and had been rather disappointed with how slow and bureaucratic the AMC had proven so far. But hopefully that would change, starting now.

Quietly, he entered the room, nodding to Sergeant Kusanagi, not taking a seat until given permission to.

"Soldier Ishida, reporting for duty, Sergeant."

Slinking into the room in a somewhat hangdog fashion, Otacon scratched his slightly scruffy chin in thought. He wasn't sure where to sit. Given that he was new, and everybody else had been here for... well, probably a while, it seemed like a bad idea to just settle wherever. He finally decided to stand around for a bit, hopefully long enough to figure out where to sit so he wouldn't be too conspicuous.

He had a few ideas about what might be needed to track down this "laughing man"- equipment and maybe some new things he'd been sleeping in the lab to finish on time for today's meeting (he still had that imprint of the keyboard on his neck and had hidden it with his turtleneck). BOCKS had been tucked away into Otacon's pocket, a merry little face painted on it courtesy of Usopp, in favor of more immediately useful projects. He hadn't brought any actual items with him, but he did have some presentation files prepared for each of the specs in his USB port, danging around his neck with his AMC passcard.

"Ah, Rookie. You're on time," a crooked smirk bloomed across the pale pink lips of the sergeant. "Have a seat, no one else seems to be nervous enough to be on time." Her smirk stayed on her face, but her hand gestured for him to sit on one of the couches and make himself comfortable. Her eerie red eyes followed him the entire time. It was the first time she had seen the kid in person. Interesting ( ... )

Lauren was prepared to present her findings thus far, and she was rather anxious to do so ever since these hackings had begun; the whole thing was perplexing and she was intrigued. The irony of it all was in that this sort of event was precisely what she needed, a thrill of a new job since she returned from California. She was growing more impatient and antsy, not having a task to focus on, so in retrospect, she couldn't have been happier.

Not that she was happy towards the hacker, specifically, of course. It was the polar opposite, and Lauren was already dead-set on pinpointing the location and identity of the "man". She had spent the last few days researching, speaking to several contacts and actual victims of the hacks, gathering any and all reference points to bring for this exact meeting. It was important to brief everyone else and bring them up to speed with anything new. Working primarily undercover, Lauren did not regularly find herself in the main building, and essentially only knew her handlers ( ... )

Practically on Lauren's heels, Dexter strode forward down the hallway with his relaxed but well-postured gait, his torso relatively still as he moved, eyes trained on the direction of the door instead of the woman in front of him.

He was thinking, still, trying to piece together enough strains of ideas to weave them together and form an idea, though he knew that he most likely hadn't been assigned to this case for his ability to hack into systems (of which no one knew), or his uncanny ability to track down Very Bad Men.

The reason probably had something to do with Dexter's talents in being able to tell what bloodtype someone was, or at what angle a person had been stabbed, his ability to run a tox screen or organize a crime scene.

In any case, he'd been hired onto it, and while it held no personal promise, it still wasn't without some degree of...interest for the man.
