It was just about time to go, but Tenten was still debating what to bring to the match. She wasn't entirely sure it was a good idea to attend-- Franky was making her nervous, declaring himself so boldly, and the absolute last thing she wanted was to be caught in some messy inter-house brawl. On the other hand, it was Franky, and she was damn well going to watch him pound that mona wimp to a pulp. So she had her pistol, and her knife, and her dagger, like usual, but what else... running her fingertips along the edge of a certain wooden box, she murmured, "Too bad I can't take you, girl."

Tenten's hand hesitated, then reached into a deep basket of bright-colored glass dropplets ("chakra stones" to the gullible), then came up with two dull metal cannisters, one olive green, one black. She grinned and slipped both grenades into her handbag. A flash-bang toy and real one for if things got out of hand. It would have to do.

Coming up on the Coliseum, she glanced at one of the posters papering the door and laughed. "Jesus, Franky, I ( ... )

The appointed hour had arrived, and Lulu was there (with Rikku in tow--playing bodyguard), trying to quell her sudden nervous-excitement at the thought of watching her warrior-angel do battle for the first time.

Glancing around the arena, taking in the gathering crowd, she felt strangely proud to see such a growing turnout--and she smiled to herself as she made her way across the auditorium--keeping her eyes open for a place where she could see and be seen without being a distraction.

She tried to ignore the twist of jealousy when she saw Kaede, the woman Soiree knew from work, slipping into the stands as well.

Jushirou Sogyo looked like a fish out of water, almost. His simple outfit made him look more like a college professor than a tea salesman (and much less like an undercover agent). Though he still wore that million dollar smile and made several apologetic bows to those he bumped into accidentally why trying to find his seat. It must have been odd to see such a man as himself at an event sponsoring violence...

Pre-Match (entrances, referee speech) angelodellasera August 18 2008, 04:21:21 UTC

Fortunately for the world, Franky owned a pair of boxing shorts. All the same, seeing the posters up made him grin. Hell yeah, he was Franky the Cyborg and he was going to kick ass.

It was a welcome confidence boost compared to the weight on his mind the previous night. Yeah, he talked big, but he fought hard. If he didn't fight enough, in a house like Vescovo where the member's blood flowed richer with pride and vanity than blood, Franky was screwed. Demoted for sure if he couldn't pull this one off. On top of all the shit going on with the houses, Franky would have told you he wasn't feeling so lucky this week.

Today all that changed. He was several hundred pounds of walking steel, power and super. Going into the locker rooms all he had to do was change and warm up, because he was already psyched.

Soiree Entrance angelodellasera August 19 2008, 01:08:52 UTC
A single distorted chord began as Soiree's entrance music began. Spotlights began to roam the house, not quite focusing on the ramp yet. The lyrics seemed to lead the listeners into the story as a video played the highlights of Soiree's past victories under the promotion.

"Ladies and gentlemen please
Would you bring your attention to me?
For a feast for your eyes to see
An explosion of catastrophe

Like nothing you’ve ever seen before
Watch closely as I open this door
Your jaws will be on the floor
After this you’ll be begging for more

Welcome to the show
Please come inside
Ladies and gentlemenThe spots finally found Soiree, and an explosion of fireworks behind him sent excitement pulsing through the arena as the music picked up. The often lively brother seemed stoic and hidden as he walked up slowly to the arena accompanied by his trainers. He wore a blue silk hooded robe, common of professional fighters in his league. The words "Angel of Twilight" were emblazoned on the back in white, fierce lettering. As he moved, they almost ( ... )

When it was time for Franky to come in, his own theme music started to play as he made his way down the ramp, dark blue satin boxing shorts and a crimson colored robe, left open.

Tied to the tracks and the trains just coming
Strapped to the wing with the engine running
You say that this wasnt in your plan
And dont mess around with the demolition man

Tied to a chair, and the bomb is ticking
This situation was not of your picking
You say that this wasnt in your plan
And dont mess around with the demolition man

Im a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
Im a three line whip
Im the sort of thing they ban
Im a walking disaster
Im a demolition man
The crowd was already pumped, Miera was the angel, and Franky got to be the evil cyborg. Posing down the ramp and interacting a bit with the lucky fans along the sides, reached the terminal and jumped into the ring ( ... )

The ring announcer took the old steel microphone and made a measure of the audience surrounding him. He was a seasoned pro at this, and he was exceptionally well paid for the talent he held. That talent being, of course, the ability to get a crowd psyched with but the sound and measure of his voice. He cleared his throat and tossed the card to the side, knowing full well that he would be saying ( ... )

As soon as the bell rang, Soiree was off like a fucking rocket. He dashed up and began a dizzying array of half-cartwheel kicks aimed to put Franky on guard. If he had anything to take advantage of over the larger, stronger, and no doubt more seasoned fighter it was that Soiree was FASTER than Franky. And capoeira was an art built for speed ( ... )

Opportunity knocked hard with a left arm, knocking Soiree onto the ground....providing him a chance to use his legs to grapple at the obviously favored arm and take the larger man down with a Fujiwara armbar. If he couldn't strike Franky down, Soiree sure as hell knew how to grapple in a pinch ( ... )

AFTERMATH angelodellasera August 20 2008, 03:00:36 UTC
Re: AFTERMATH raitei_wolf August 20 2008, 03:16:31 UTC
Syaoran's heart skipped a beat. Two. Three. Four. His breathing, for a moment, became unsteady as the orders from his Sotto Capo echoed in his mind.

He melted into the crowd, his training from long ago mixing with his genetic enhancements to make going undetected to the two fighters and any security guards simple. As Franky was on his way into the locker room, Syaoran saw to it that he would have a clear shot.

Suddenly, electricity arced out of the crowd from what seemed to everyone in the room to be a shadow, straight toward the back of the defeated cyborg.

It'd taken Franky a while to get up, but he gave everyone a big grin, shook Soiree's hand, then gave him a very lopside man-hug with tears in his eyes for this monumental moment in the fighter's carrier.

As he limped off down the ramp, back to the locker rooms, his mind turned to a heavier thought of what the hell he was gonna do now that he lost and what Vesco was gonna do with him.

He didn't have time to give it much consideration, before he found out. He didn't know what hit him as suddenly everything in his body went completely wrong, searing pain shooting though him. The sound of several things exploding sounded off as the Cyborg dropped to the ground like a broken toy.

Syaoran felt bile rise in his throat as he watched Franky fall. They were his orders...he was only following orders...

He made his way out of the arena in a hurry, taking to the shadows. He couldn't risk going straight back to the Vescovo compound in case someone had seen him, but he couldn't risk staying out on the streets longer than he had to for the same reason. In the pit of his stomach, he got the feeling this wasn't going to end well. For him, for Vescovo...for anyone involved.
