When he laces his fingers together with mine, I feel completely safe. Held. His. His body covering mine, protecting me from the unknown. He probably doesn't think there's much he can protect me from, but I know how much he wants to. It didn't take Cordelia's "nudging" to show me that.
His kiss shows it, too. The way his fingers grip mine a little tighter and his hands thread through my hair, keeping my mouth connected to his. I keep holding the kiss as long as he'll let me. His mouth keeps me wanting more; I could just kiss him for a whole day. We should try that. Not that we'd get a chance with the way our lives are, but it's a nice thought.
We part, and he has that look his face of a thoroughly well kissed man. Lips parted, slightly heavier breathing, and a soft low whisper of a voice. "Okay." His suggestion is good, and I wait until I can't feel him before trying to move. The absence is like a breath of cool air, and it makes me sad for an instant, but I know I'll have him back soon enough.
Glancing up at him as I carefully turn over in the tunnel of his arms, I take in the sight of Wes above me, and I have to swallow a little harder than normal. That plane of his chest, the long lines of his legs and arms; doesn't he know how beautiful he is? I should get him to let me sktech him sometime. "This gives me far too many ideas. I'm reserving your body for the instant you're healed." I smile up at him, my arms automatically circling around his waist...outside the robe. Inside is nothing but temptation, and that's not what either of us needs right now.
I do take advantage of our mouths being so close and enjoy another kiss. Wes in my arms, and his lips on mine. It can't get much better than this.
