Continued from Here

“Feels good too,” I say, stifling a yawn and not really managing. God, I’m tired. Laying here, in his arms and in a hot bath isn’t doing anything to keep me awake. Add to that the… however long he’s been gone, too long of not sleeping and it’s a small wonder I’m not already asleep. Not to mention that whirlwind of whatever that was we had the last day. From his arrival to here, it’s like an undercurrent on a silent lake. You never know what lurks below.

It’s tempting to turn over and just drape myself over Angel. But that wouldn’t actually work in a bath now would it? So I turn automatically to my side, freezing half way through. Alright, so my back isn’t all that wonderful yet. Slowly, I turn back and snuggle closer to Angel, nuzzling his neck. Now this works too, and he does smell like… bubble bath. I bet we both smell like bubble bath shortly. It’s a good thing Cordelia isn’t a vampire, because we’d never hear the end of it.

“We’re going to look like prunes.” I frown a bit as how my voice sounds as though it’s slurring. Shrugging at that, I dip my hands in the water and slide them over his legs again. He feels so strong and a small smile graces my face when I feel the muscles jump under my touch. “You feel good too,” I sigh happily. I think even Gunn barging in here stating we’d have to go out and tackle a vision could get me to move.

One eye cracks open when I hear Angel yawn. I pull back from….smelling his neck and blink at him. “Tired?” I smile softly, and as on cue, a yawn escapes me as well. “Perhaps we should try and catch some sleep outside the bath?” And maybe we can stay in bed all day tomorrow. Only come out to take another luxurious bath. Life couldn’t be bett--- No, I’m not going to finish that. I’ll end up jinxing us. “I think I can move somewhat now,” I say, trying to sound convincing.
