I tried it once and I seemed just as emotional, I was overall less irritable once I stopped taking in so much caffeine but it wasn't so bad when I replaced caffeinated beverages with teas instead.
As for cramps and all the only thing I've found that works is this pain killer called Vanquish and it's hard for me to find it so I stock up when I do. In each pill it's 194 mg Acetaminophen, 227mg Aspirin and 33mg Caffeine. I also combine this with a heating pad set to high and a really heavy book set on my stomach.
I get pretty bad cramps and insane emotional symptoms that have been so bad as to end relationships with my mood swings and anger. I find if I sit and stay away from people, consume A LOT of dark chocolate and watch really happy movies that I can make it through okay though. I find doing something calming helps, I went batshit crazy one night and went to the nearest wal-mart and got a 'paint by number' kit and it took me a good 18 hours to work on it..but damn it saved me that month.

i DO know for a fact that caffeine causes breast tenderness, experienced that myself.
one daughter tried b complex vitamins with some response, the other took, dang it, what's it called....
St John's Wort or something like that, she said it helped.
I've also heard that rosehip tea helps.
