I think that's a fairly balanced point of view. Political endorsement in our line of work is dangerous business. I know that better than anyone.
But if a situation came to a head, and there was a particular policy or event you felt strongly about, would you take a stand to make a difference? To use your position, as Lorna noted?
And I don't think "being me" is necessarily a good, or a bad, thing.
But I spent many years assuming - perhaps to a fairly ridiculous extent - that I should stay out of political dealings. And it's possible my neutrality did some harm.
