A man is standing next to the main help desk, dressed in an ordinary suit but it's obvious he isn't ordinary. Just the look on his face and the way his eyes move back and ( Read more... )

[A young Japanese woman, dressed well for work, heads towards the man in the suit with a cup of steaming liquid and the telltale scent of coffee.]

While you wait?

[She flashes a pert smile, as though the coffee is no more than an excuse to be here, inside this building. The office-style clothes aren't even hers; not in waking life, or here. They're courtesy of her teletia-s device.]

[ Loki turns his head to her and simply raises an eyebrow. Then he shakes his head. ]

No, thank you. I am fine as it is.

Are you waiting for an appointment? [Something about the pleasantries is just a bit off, like she's playing a role.]

[ He smiles in return, bowing his head slightly. ]

Simply passing the time. Please, continue with your duties. I'd hate to keep you from them.

[She will always look out of place, no matter the dress code. Even if there's a general 'what dress code?' air to her; no suit or clean shoes. But such an interesting fellow we have here; he's certainly not human.]

You seem out of place. [One to talk, isn't she?]

I will always be out of place.

But why are you? Why here, in your own dream- and yet so different from what suits you?

[Dress code. Right.

Someone definitely didn't tell Laharl. He's wearing his customary clothes, which is to say a scarf, shorts, shoes, cuffs and a giant sword in hand. There's also a pendant hidden underneath his scarf, but other than those, he's not wearing much. He'd look pretty if he looked less like a scrawny 13-year-old kid.]

Where's the exit?

Find the door with the sign labeled "exit." It shouldn't be too hard for a boy of your, ah, style to find.

[ Something about this building -- oh yay, more government buildings. ]

I have a feeling I'm not supposed to be here.

I have a feeling I'm not the only one out of place in here.

[ He looks around. ]

[ Loki turns to look at him. ]

It's strange, isn't it? You would think that you would belong in a dream.
