I'm getting a universal DVD player when we move. I will definitely order all of TW in its original form. Not sure about coe yet as I'll never watch it again.

Yeah - and now you can't get the DVD of The Making Of Me anywhere at all! The people in charge are weird. They seem to be motivated by money - until we want something and then they make it unavailable.

I'd like to make the people who make these decisions and ask them some questions!

Oh well then maybe there just wasn't and I assumed someone somewhere would have worked out it would have sold well to at least LGBT people and JB fans (or both or neither).

Weird!

Hey, at least here in the US we're getting Season 5 somewhat close to the original air date. All I'm going to say is Season 1 and The Next Doctor. This of course reaffirms my belief that everything is better when it's British and comes straight out of the UK.

I think things as they were intended are better - like the Brit versions of Harry Potter. Not much difference in content but there are differences here and there.

It is better that we're getting season 5 closer to the airdate, but I still see no reason why there's a three week gap, except stupid people in charge who haven't realized the internet exists yet!

Oh I agree...execs bitch and complain about people downloading shows illegally but then they still air DW over here later then in the UK..and they wonder why we do it ?!?!?!?

Even better, on iTunes for the DT specials they posted the Confidentials..but it looks like they aren't going to for Season 5...explain the logic of that one.

I'm waiting for the day when we don't have to look at the region codes to know if we can play it in our dvd players. Really--with all this technology and trading and such, we don't have just one region code?

And exactly as you said--with this technology, why can't things be aired at once?

Maybe they just like seeing us suffer...

I'm starting to believe that's it! They are pure sadists.

You know, I did not know this! I have the DL of CoE from the UK, but haven't watched the CoE DVDs yet. (I don't think I've OPENED them; I'm really not writing fic about that period and have the transcripts anyway, so...)

Damn. I'll just burn copies of the DL'ed versions, then.

Totally agree. I don't know why things just can't air within 24 hours of the debut in one country to the next when BBC America is... connected to the BBC!

When I win Powerball and establish my non-evil satellite Archangel Network on a cloaked satellite, along with providing discount global wifi to everyone and defeating national censorship in China, I'll hook up broadcast rights too. Don't you worry! :D

Yes. Win Powerball quickly, please. CoE isn't something I like to watch over and over (it HURTS) but I'm writing some stuff at the moment for screen and am researching stuff.

Censorship is fast becoming a serious issue these days in a world where we can share everything. Unless some dick says we can't.

Hmph.
