It's taken two weeks of careful planning (really preparing for a battle's easier than this!), the first ever feast prepared entirely by a King is on for one and all

Merlin & that guy who keeps asking to be punched in the facealbiongothicMarch 25 2011, 01:30:36 UTC
There is someone at the celebration who is pleased with the food, the entertainment, the humbling of a former warlock, and the arrival of a certain Druid.
He wasn't particularly pleased with the announcement, but more because it felt like losing to Merlin, as opposed to any particular attachment other than a piece of healthy lust.
Taking his leave from the hall, his good fortune only increases when he sees who else is wandering the corridor.
With a smirk, Cadoc realizes this day really couldn't be going any better. He snaps out the fire on a torch, just because he can and the other man can't.

There are a great many people that feel a certain smugness, now that Merlin's powers have gone. For the most part he deals with them in fair humor and thinks of the politics instead of the personal insults. However, that is not to say he's had the occasion to run into them in dark back hallways.
Especial those whom Merlin has had a history of violence with.

Cadoc's smirk turns into a full out Cheshire-style grin. "Merlin the great -- no, not that anymore, are you?"
He lights the torch again, because he's feeling petty.
"So without your power, you've decided the only way to keep influence is to marry the Queen?" There are a few in the community who have thought that, in their unkindest moments, but Cadoc will be the only one to say it.
Return to the feast (Open)exiledskepticMarch 25 2011, 03:17:32 UTC
Returning to the feast, Morgana is quick to retake her seat. She knows it's important to be seen, as often as possible. While the official festivities are at a lull, at the moment, and everyone is up and about, this is more about appearance than her presence being technically necessary.
She looks around for the others who would usually sit with her at the head table. Neither Merlin nor Arthur have returned and Gwen is nowhere to be seen

There is one person that was taken almost nearly by surprise at this announcement. Though she is taking the news rather well, perhaps it is a good time for Merlin's mother to have a bit of a talk with his bride-to-be.
Hunith approaches Morgana after she has had time to speak with other guests.

Morgana would've presumed Merlin would've told his mother, but it doesn't make her any less nervous when Hunith approaches. "Good day." Morgana says with the respect befitting her intended's mother.

The elder woman bows a little. There is no way to break a habit of a lifetime.
"I see that there is something I must chide my son about... he did not mention the plans for this." Which is Hunith's polite way of asking what the hell?
Merlin & Morgana: post feastexiledskepticMarch 27 2011, 00:49:28 UTC
Morgana's been searching for intended since leaving Hunith. She's concerned for him, with the arrival of Mordred, and even more concerned given that Hunith had to learn of the engagement publicly. This, to Morgana, tells her far more about Merlin's emotional state than anything he's said.
Finally, she comes across him. She doesn't like the fact he is alone. That is one thing she wants more than anything with this marriage, that neither of them, so set apart by everything they've done, will have to be alone.
Re: Merlin & Morgana: post feastsecrettalentsMarch 27 2011, 03:43:03 UTC
After his short confrontation with Cadoc, he spent some time amongst the thinning crowd. He made a point to converse with as many of the community as would speak with him, as well as spending a few moments with the Knight's to raise his spirits a little.
This may have been done by Gwaine insisting on his drinking a great deal more than he normally would agree to. However, as his old friend said, you will only get one engagement celebration, take advantage of it.
Now however, Merlin is back alone, in fact he was nearly dozing in his corner. Startled by Morgana's sudden conversation, he almost slips off the side of his chair.

Merlin's sheepish expression is just another dead giveaway.
"Jus a'few drinks w'the boys." It will take Merlin a good several seconds to process the fact that he's being called out on forgetting something very important. At which point he make a somewhat distressed sound.

"I'm sorry if it's escaped your attention, Cadoc, I know how confusing city life must seem to you. But the Queen is already married, to Arthur."

"What have you been doing, other than not telling your mother of our engagement?"
She knows, she just wants to see how badly he slurs.
