Rehearsal Dinner

All guests to the wedding are invited. The dinner's in the Great Hall with plenty of room for mingling, eating, and seeing or avoiding old friends.

"Hi, and thank you for inviting me," Dawn curtsied as much for the practice and the heck of it as for anything else. "Do you need anything? Errands? Tea? Tea with errands? Lists? I know you must have lists. I can help."

"Dawnie!" Willow went for a hug. Some things were instinctive. "You made it! Great yay! Also good choice for the clothes. Do they fit okay? There had to be guesswork though it turns out that doing so involves geometry so that was actually quite soothing."

Dawn hugged back, because, hi, Willow much? "I did. This is between midterms and finals so classes are fine. I look okay?" She gave a little twirl. "They're fun, and I'm more than happy to leave all the math to you, since you're good at it. I do have homework, though, if you want to be extra calm later."

"I might actually take you up on that," Willow said. "Oh my gosh so many details! I'm sure I'm forgetting things. I know I'm forgetting things. But Su swears that I haven't but it's possible she's just being polite and ooo - tea? Tea would be wonderful right now, thank you."

"I can do tea. And she's gonna be your sister, right? Sisters are never just being polite," she said with great authority. "Milk or sugar, are there kinds of tea, or do we just go with what we get? Where's the kitchen?"

"There's bound to be a pot somewhere," Willow said. "This is Peter's home. I mean it's my home too and there's a whole bunch of other people living here as well which is good because wow with the upkeep if it was just the two of us not to mention a serious excess of rooms. But my point is that he does have a thing for tea so if there isn't some nearby we may want to check him for robot and/or alien double, which would probably not be an unusual problem for an event like this."

"How do you check for a robot or alien double?" Dawn asked, prepared to do that if necessary. That she'd also be keeping an eye out for demons and vampires (even if Narnia didn't have any) went without saying, as far as she was concerned.

She finally spotted a pot of tea and a clean cup and brought them both over to Willow, then sat down. "It's so cool you're getting married. I had to promise other you lots of pictures."

Willow took the tea gratefully, sipping it like a lifeline. If one could sip at lifelines. "I'm in denial. Except for the parts where I'm wholly aware of it which is why there's the panic but it's a happy panic."

Willow's face immediately lit up with a smile. "Very happy. I love Peter, and I love his family. And I can do good things here! Not that I'm perfect or anything since wow far from it, but I'm smart and I know what feminism is and I can totally kick the butt of any evil witches that come by."
