I can't even articulate how much I adore this show. With the Winters/Nixon snark, and the BOOOYS, and the actual military advisors who mostly got it right, and just...seriously, Richard Winters is the original badass. Fair warning that the battle scenes can be a little intense, though--especially the first time through.
SHOOOOW!!!!! SET, WHY ARE YOU NOT WATCHING WITH ME? BOOOOOYS! They're at Brecourt, and OMFG, why don't we watch this show ALL THE DAMN TIME?
I cannot wait for the rewatch, seriously. Like, I think I'm going out tomorrow to buy the dvds so that I can rewatch on the television Monday. I think that's an excellent plan.
In conclusion: it's a can of peaches, sir.
ETA: ALSO. bayleaf is watching it for the first time! I sort of envy her, really I do. Popeye just got shot in the ass, and that scene, just...BOOOYS.
I keep thinking that the NEXT TIME I watch it, some of the flailing will fade. No such luck; S is laughing at me because at every commercial I just wander through the house repeating lines. "Going my way?" "Sure!"

Their FAAACES. RLiv's GRIN, which should be illegal, it really should. AND DAMIAN FUCKING LEWIS. Right now they're at "Night of the Bayonet" and it turns out I have it memorized. Huh. Weird.

I'm gonna be participating in rewatch hopefully just this week off of memory because my housemate who owns the DVD player is moving out tomorrow and the other roommate will be getting a DVD player from her mom's house but we don't know when that'll be.
I was thinking maybe a double feature the first week? That way we could stick to the original airdates all the way through?
Also, I don't want to do media links from the rewatch comm, but I was thinking of posting episodes in C_Z as we went, since I'm assuming that those folks are the ones most likely to still need the files. Since I have them all anyhow. Thoughts?

Double feature first week should be okay. I hope you planned on the caption contest or whatever because I am looking for LULzy caps. It takes a while, though, because then I get stuck on the hot ass caps.

Okay, so double feature this week (you want to post "Currahee" or "Day of Days"? I figure we'll each take an episode. unless it would be better to do them by locked/unlocked? If you're doing the caps for the contest, do you want to do the Lulzy locked posts? Or is that a totally different post? I think I was considering them part of the crack!posts, since the theme seems to fit.
I see no reason not to also post hotass caps. But possibly that's just me. Maybe they could go on the public posts?

I want to wrap myself up in a blanket and watch it all day everyday which I highly doubt would even make a dent in my epic amount of love for this show. It cannot possibly be seen too many times. \rewatch/
It really does only get better with seeing it again. I think this weekend makes my fifth time through, and I'm still finding little things that I didn't catch the other times that make me ridiculously happy.
