Your moment of WTF for today

Jun 28, 2008 08:31

I am confused as to whether Kathy Lee thought the Egyptians were Christians here. I mean, seriously, even if this is some weird sort of joke, if you substitute "Jews" for "Pagans" in that line, she'd be up to her neck in angry phone calls.

Gah. I'm more shocked by that than I probably should be.

Actually, Kathy Lee never had an original thought of her own, and this is no exception. The writers are to blame for this one. And yeah, that positively sucks. Someone should write the show and express concern. Someone like you and me. Maybe I will do just that when life settles down a bit.

No, she obviously assumed we were talking about Late Kingdom monotheist Egyptians. ;-)

It's clear from her tone that she's being somewhat ironic. It feels like she she was aiming for 'those wacky Pagans' and her brain froze. (Time to reboot the TV personality.) I suppose it might generate some interest if lots of people complained, but it hardly seems worth the effort unless Kathy continues attacking "the nasty bad Pagans".
