Weird Dream

So, six weeks ago, I broke my ankle. I was out collecting plants for my class, wasn’t paying attention to where I was putting my feet, and was wearing rubber boots instead of winter boots- I basically stepped on a patch of ice, and went down. I don’t remember how I fell, but I must have gotten my leg under me.

It didn’t really hurt and once I got ( Read more... )

Oh no! I know how much that sucks! I didn't have a cast and I went back and forth on whether or not I would have liked having a cast more than the Darth Vader boot. The boot was heavy and awkward, but I could take it off and shower. At the same time though, taking it off and looking at my leg was disgusting, so I sometimes wished that I couldn't do that. I also didn't have the opportunity to have people write cool messages on a cast, so that was kind of a bummer. Did people write cool stuff on your cast ( ... )

I know! I've thought of you throughout this whole thing! In the first couple of days I couldn't make tea. Luckly boyfriend was around for the first two weeks, after which I was way more independent. I cannot wait to shower properly ( ... )

Oh ick! I can imagine how miserable the sandpaper cast must be. I like to sleep in only a top, so my other leg would likely be raw and bloodied by the time it was all over. How far up does it go? Did you break the tibia or the fibula? I don't have pins any more (though really they are grousome looking screws) and I think it's much better. I'm glad I had them taken out.

I think you are very smart to get them out. I keep being told these horror stories of people getting breakable screws that didn't break when they were suppose to, and now there is nothing to be done about it.

I think I broke the fibula, the outside bone that is non-weight bearing, which is why I was able to walk on it for so long without horrid pain.

I am now cast free!!! and I will have to arrange physio, but I like the guy I saw for my shoulder a couple of years ago.

Ack, a broken anything sounds like no fun at all. Hopefully when you have the doctor remove your cast everything will be well.

The cast came off this morning! YAY. My leg is a mess of dry skin and leg hair, but a bath (so exciting) should take care of that.

How is your jaw comming along?
