OP I also forget it was their debut song! It was a great debut, 4Minute's discography hasn't aged well except Hot Issue.

Genie!!!! My favorite era. I love how they all went from Gee to Genie so seamlessly, not many groups can do both cutesy and sexy.

omg watching that genie video was like traveling back in time to all the hairstyles I had in 2009-2010 i cry. The lil pouf, the inward curl on Tayeon was my dance team's uniform hairstyle, I was rocking Sunny's look on a daily basis and yuri's on a good day.

my gosh the times were simpler, and the music a lot... better. but I suppose that's because the public had to like it, not niche global k-fans and teens. and to think that jeon jiyoon is now on a reality tv show for bad dancers lol bish where.

tbh niga mipda was my fave 2pm song, and i was such a jay stan he was such a dork and now he's... not it at all lol

it is really so much more obvious that 2nd gen sang live.

The brief time that I was a fan of 2pm was during the promotion of that song lmao Who would say that I would end up crying because of Jaebom's scandal, oh the nostalgia... anways
I love Genie, my fave SNSD song and with Hot issue I always think in Song Jihyo lmao I can't dissociate that song from her

sometimes now Jihyo dances to other songs on running man (in those few instanced that I still tune into that show) and I just feel like it's odd. Hot Issue is her song.

Oh, the summer of 2009 was such a fun time being a newbie kpop fan. I remember spending that summer getting to know some of the groups that I liked more, binge-watching Family Outing and finding new groups and new songs to add to my playlist. oh, the nostalgia. It was such a good time. Ugh, take me back.

Watching this took me back and also made me miss the live energy of the second gen. They were not all good singers back then, but we also had some of the best vocalist in kpop with some truly unique voices, but damn they at least gave it their all with a help of some good backtrack. But there was a special energy that was present on stage because they at least tried to sing live and not just dance and look pretty (but of course they tried that as well).

and the choreo was simpler and more danceable for the general public. Have we had a dance craze recently? I don't think we have, but I could be wrong.

I didn't get into K-pop until 2010, and I was obsessed with Genie when I found it, so I remember being annoyed that I missed this era!
