we all already knew that henry and jackson love china and the ccp so much, i guess korean netizens are finally catching on due to the hostile events bringing these things to the surface

either way i am surprised that henry still has fans/does stuff in korea, i thought he was fully a mainland celeb now. though i guess after this he will probably just stick with china now

never forget when this perv wanted to go through (altho i forget if he actually did) the girls’ underwear drawer in roommate. disgusting. bye

I think it was with Jackson, since he was guesting on Roommate as Jackson's friend. I think they went in to the girls' rooms but I'm not sure the extent to how much they were flipping through

Him and Jackson. I think it was Nana's underwear drawer but she caught and stopped them.

No comment. I am not Korean, Chinese and Japanese and feel I do not have enough knowledge to speak about the topic of the pain of the history between those countries have passed to current generations.

Currently dealing with the war in Russia, as an American whose grandparents were from Ukraine.

So hard to understand the wars between neighbors over land.

So are Chinese stars meant to act like they hate China?

I'm not a fan of Henry, but this anti China hysteria is beginning to get out of hand. I wonder what the impact is for Chinese living in Korea. I know that whenever racism gets stoked up in UK it leads to more hate crimes.

I get what you're saying, but he's a Canadian star active in Asia. And his parents grew up largely under British rule and chose to emigrate to Canada.

I do not think he was raised with the same family thinking as a mainland raised Chinese or even Jackson.

My editbis to try to be more focused in my point: from Henry this seems more overtly $ and I don't know if I would call him a Chinese star. You think he would renounce his Canadian citizenship and seek PRC?

I agree you with your point on hate crimes, sorry I initially glossed over it.

He is ethnically Chinese, and he's identified himself as such and he has been active in China, so for me there is enough reason him to be called a Chinese star.

I also do think that a lot of this is about keeping on the Chinese government's side so that he could keep doing business in China.
But that does not stop him from also having some genuine feelings of being proud to be Chinese, even as a HK born Canadian Chinese, as it's still a part of his heritage.

It just sucks to see it all turning so ugly on all sides and escalating, because nuance gets lost and I do think people will end up getting hurt over this if it continues T_T

I mean money is one thing, especially if he wants to promote in China. he definitely needs the goodwill to continue. while Henry is not a person I would stand up for given his past behaviour, I don't see why he can't delete comments when it affects his earnings. there's also the sinophobia, and two wrongs don't cancel each other

I try to stay out of things like this because I just don't get it. When RM posted pictures of the Korean Olympics on his instagram the Chinese fans got upset, now Henry's Korean fans are upset when he is showing support for China.

I think if someone is supporting the country they are from I don't see the harm in, they are proud of their country.

I guess it is really hard for anyone in the entertainment field (that would go for all countries) because they have fans all over the world and stuff like this is always going to happen.
