DAY 9, Morning

Dec 20, 2007 11:01

They had arrived in the village too late in the evening to hope for any food from the one inn, but the mayor's wife had saved some roast and bread from her own table for them. The inn itself had only reserved two rooms, one for Gisela, and one for her guards. She begrudgingly gave up her single-bed corner room to Gun and shared the double quarters ( Read more... )

I slowly waken. My back hurts because of that thin, over used, disgusting mattress I had to sleep on. Awful, why I did I come again?

I rub my eyes and slowly lifted myself up. Luckily the green colour on my hand had lessened. Thank Shinou, I'm not going to stay green forever. I look around me. The room was small, smelly, didn't have any class and I had to share it with little miss perfect.

The worst thing is, however, I didn't bring any clothes. There's only that soldier suit. Well, better than walking around naked. I got out of bed, took my clothes and headed towards the bath. It's probably public and disgusting too.

"Hello, dear." I said as I saw something green when I walked into the small bath. "Had a nice sleep?"

Gun walked casually towards the bath house. It was a public bath and unisex at that.

He wondered if Gisela or Cheri would be there. Might be awkward, but frankly he didn't care.

His white uniform was currently soaking in the basin in his room and there was a small chance that the blood stains would come out. In the meanwhile he had a towel around his waist and that was about it. He had a spare towel to replace this one for after he was clean. Why would you use the same towel as when you're clean as when you were dirty?

Opening the door to the bath house he saw both a blond and green head of hair. Looks like his two traveling companions were both present and accounted for.

"Good morning ladies," he greeted stepping into the warm waters.

Gisela was just sinking into the warm bath, very pleased with the fact that no one else was here, when she heard someone entering. It couldn't be Cheri. That woman struck her as the kind that would sleep until noon and complain that it was too early.

But the first voice was unmistakeably Cheri's. She groaned and closed her eyes with her head tilted back on the tiles. "Well enough," she replied, and dropped a rag over her eyes. Maybe if she couldn't see the woman, she could pretend she was still alone.

The second voice quickly shattered that hope. She berated herself for not closing and locking the door to keep the men out. The rag went flying as she bolted upright and scooted to the farthest end of the pool. She went a step farther and blew out all the candles nearest her.

"I don't suppose you'll step out and wait until I'm done?"

Gun leaned back with his eyes closed and slipped further into the warm water. He was on the far end of the bath from them both.

"I'd rather not reek of blood and dead men, so your modesty comes lower on my list of priorities," Gun replied bored.

"Besides, I'm hardly interested in you."

"How would you know if you don't try it." She hissed, trying so hard not to raise her voice. "Are you a healer, Cheri?"

"What a stupid question. You know I'm not but I'm also not blind. Some are acting."

After leaving the bath Gun had 'borrowed' a change of clothes from a visiting dignitary and then 'borrowed' a horse ( ... )

Gisela turned her head to snap back at Cheri, but caught Gun pushing through the last of the villagers. From the gasps and murmurs in the crowd, she could tell something was wrong before he reached her.

She was already reaching for the boy he carried the moment he was free of those gathered. After checking him over briefly, she gently took the boy away from Gun and knelt on the floor. With the child settled on her lap, she curled over him. A green light spread from her hands to envelope all of her and the child, and everything and one around her was forgotten.

(OOC: I started a new thread...so you'd stop bolding my name. I assume you'll both be joining me...at least until we part company.)
