Day 72: Securing An Uninvited Guest

Mar 21, 2011 18:20

"Good." Wolf nodded, letting Gunter lead the horse. He provided support, as a comrade would, gentle and careful. All the way back to the castle he kept an eye both on their prisoner and on the woods around them. Both soldiers held their swords at the thing, just in case ( Read more... )

Somehow they made it back to the castle without an ambush or any problems from their prisoner. Though the slime was unpleasant ( ... )

Having a Fire Majutsu as your prisoner was one thing. Having a Salamander Tribe Fire Majutsu as your prisoner was something entirely different. The safety measures had been taken, he was secure but still ‘live’. Wolf knew from experience that one skilled enough in fire magic had the ability to be more of a problem than they were worth when captured. He had certainly not made it easy on Gwendal himself. “We need to make sure there are no sources of fire nearby that he can see or smell before we loosen his muzzle later so he can talk.” Though he knew well that the truly dedicated can draw the spirit of fire even if it wasn’t in the room, Gunter had taught him that respecting the elements for what they are could be the difference between life and death. An enemy Majutsu user was rare, but possible. Gunter and Conrad both ensured he knew never to underestimate the enemy ( ... )

"Don't go making any trouble while we find the maou. This is probably the only chance you'll have to meet such a splended individual, so I wouldn't ruin it if I were you."

Gunter saw the horror in Wolf's eyes and placed a hand on his shoulder. But with this monster behind a solid door, they at least could bide some time. "I can't even imagine what would possess someone to go through so much effort. The stones are symbolic, mostly, but whomever's at the root of this must have a heavy grudge against us. They may be mazoku, but they don't have much regard for others. We can only hope they still have some respect for their ruler."

He saw a few maids mopping the floor on the way to the cell area, but they had to find the other yuuri and explain things to him, quickly. Gunter, who generally loved his mazoku brethren, wanted nothing more than to turn this endangered tribe extinct.

There was a low guttural growl from the inside of the cell. It wasn’t doing anything, yet. Wolf put a hand to his forehead and wished he had some kind of bag to stuff the scarf in. Touching it made his skin crawl. Luckily, one of the guards had a pouch he could borrow and he could stuff the offensive thing into that while he and Gunter went to find the other Yuuri. “We need to tell Gwendal.” He murmured under his breath. “How many did we see? Six, I think, not including our friend in the dungeon.” He wondered what would happen when night fell. Would these nightmares decide to attack under the cover of darkness ( ... )

Yuuri had been deciding on grabbing a meal, searching out Gisela, or hitting the baths. Preferably all three. And now he was following Gunter to wherever about something he needed his help for? Which was NOT one of his top choices. It wasn't even in his middle choices.

....Why hadn't he just ignored the older man?

"So what are we doing?" He whined.

((ooc: As a heads up, my notifs seem to be relatively okay now (FINALLY. GOD. ELJAY. :|) but just in case I don't tag back for awhile, you might want to give me a poke on aim or something.

Also uhm. I did read through this thread and glance through others, but Gunter, maybe still explain to Yuuri just so I can make sure I know whatever I should know?))

Gunter quickly led the maou's double through the castle. he wasted enough time and had to meet wolf.

"we need you to pretend to be the maou so we can find out who and why the stones were stolen. this mazoku doesn't know any different and we won't let him hurt you."

Wolf had finally managed to extricate himself from the King's line of sight.

Now who was the Wimp? he grumbled at himself for being so weak willed while in the line of Yuuri’s Maoh Gaze.

He had not been able to help it, on any world, Yuuri could make him do things he wouldn’t normally do with that look. He ran a shaking hand through his hair. Hopefully Gunter had been able to locate and explain things to the other Yuuri.

He also hoped that Gunter would understand. He had a feeling the older Mazoku would, but he still felt bad. At least he managed to get away without Yuuri in tow.
