"Good." Wolf nodded, letting Gunter lead the horse. He provided support, as a comrade would, gentle and careful. All the way back to the castle he kept an eye both on their prisoner and on the woods around them. Both soldiers held their swords at the thing, just in case

Gunter’s hand reassured him a little. He had to agree, they didn’t seem to care. He remembered how they’d tried to capture him. It’s likely had they succeeded he would have met the same fate as others captured by the Salamander tribe. A slow, painful, death. They needed answers, like where did they hide? How did they fight? Weaknesses... they needed to prepare just in case there were more. The thought of more than a half dozen made him cringe.
He hoped not.
"Conrad used to tell me stories about them, that they were very few. Surely whoever found them could not have found too many..."
OOC information Knowledgeable types would know: Their actual numbers had never been discerned because once the Mazoku began to organize themselves those with less noble tendencies did not fare well. Hide well they did and clearly well enough that they could survive until now to only be the stuff of nightmares and bedtime stories. Their numbers? Unlikely to be large and given that they travel in small groups or they fight amongst each other it's more likely this is a small group found and lured out by a promise of payment. Something has to be in it for them. The only time they have ever been spotted is if one was getting supplies and even then, they would hide and slither away quickly. They are not sociable with other Demon Tribes and there is no one they are allied with. They were forgotten, lost in the past. It might be pushing it to say more than two dozen given how rare it is to spot one. The lack of freedom to capture women and eat them have also succeeded in culling their ranks.

"If you want to find Gwendal and explain the situation, including the fact we're going to use the other Yuuri to protect the maou, I'll find Gunter and learn more about these things then set searching for Yuuri. He's probably in a bath or with Gisela anyway." At least, that sounded like the most rapid plan.
(OOC: wanna give us some insight on these critters so when i find gunter he can tell me all about it? XD I'll probably poke his log for it then start a new one in here when i track down yuuri? - which teef's been notified to watch this log :D)

Quick Review of the Salamander Tribe:
*Bloodthirsty, human hating tribe even though the majority of them have human blood.
*Why? Humans killed off a bunch of their women once many thousands of years ago and since then they have taken revenge as it is very rare that a female is born to the tribe due to genetic failure.
*They have remained hidden for thousands of years because they are not well liked and because it is harder to snatch humans without being noticed.
*Once a human female has given birth to a child, she is ritualistically killed once it is ensured that the child will survive. She is tortured and then eaten. Her hair is scalped and worn by the child until it’s death.
*Their numbers have dwindled due to various wars. They always fight when there is a war and are savage and brutal fighters. They are generally on the front lines as cannon fodder.
*Its rare that they have Majutsu power, if they do it is usually the element of fire.
*There is probably not more than two dozen left in the Kingdom today.
*They shed skin which is the cause of the smell and the residue from their feet.
*They generally hide in dark caves by rivers.
*They are sought out only by someone who would want to use them as cannon fodder or distraction or someone who wants an uncontrollable ally for whatever purpose.
*In D&D terms they are Chaotic Evil.
*They eat raw meat, all kinds.
*They look after their own. It's quite possible an escape attempt will be made due to the fact that the one captured was a Majitsu user.
*They have four arms, thick tails and look like a humanoid salamander.
*Their tongues can extract from their mouths and be used as a weapon.
Will post a response from wolf at lunch.

He cursed under his breath, "It was my fault, I wasn't thinking when I saw the Majutsu this morning. I just took off."
He shook his head, throwing out any dark thoughts for the moment. "Anyway, I'll find Gwendal." He was less afraid now of his 'pseudo' brother here though it was still painful dealing with him. "Then come back here."
