Day 54, night
“Ara?” Anissina woke with a start, wondering why she was sleeping on a haystack in the stables. Actually, she couldn’t remember what she was doing at all. And here it was, already night time! Well, that just won’t do! Dusting herself off and picking several pieces of hay from her hair, she walked (with a purpose) towards the castle proper and towards her lab. Luckily, no one was about and could see her moment of disgrace. Hopefully no one dared to touch her experiments while she was being momentarily absent-minded. Last thing she remembered working on was “Scrub-scrub-sparkly-kun” to help the maids in the kitchen with post-meal cleaning, though it was having a tendency to destroy wine glasses.
She was none too happy about having a blank spot in her memory, and couldn't even guess at what caused it. She didn't remember Gunter concocting anything bizarre smelling recently, so it wasn't that. And of course it wouldn't have been a result of a failed experiment. No matter. She'll find some way to secretly pry info out of people. That part was simple enough.
Reaching the castle, she did notice the amount of people seemed to be low. She stopped a guard that seemed to want to run away from her quickly to find out where people were, and at least found out there was some sort of festival and tournament. Such trivial, barbaric things. At least now she'd have peace and quiet to work.
