As for shitty holidays, someday I gotta tell you about the one where they wanted to stuff me in the hospital for all winter break JUST SO THEY COULD MONITOR ME WHILE guess what...TAKING ME OFF ALL OF MY MEDS (yeah, such a GREAT idea!) but luckily for me ALL THE HOSPITALS IN SO CAL WERE FULL...but then by New Year's Eve I was sick as a fucking dog because, dhuuuur, I cannot function without my medications, so I ended up spending New Year's in the hospital.
Yeah, this was back when I HATED ALL MY PSYCHS, AND FOR VERY GOOD REASONS.
Aw man, I'm so sorry, what happened to you is worse than all my worst holidays. :C That's another reason why I hate psychiatrists and I can totally understand that - who wouldn't hate them when they do things like that to people? In holiday season too...
I can relate about soap baskets too (TT has a lot of laughing at myself, remember?). It was the worst when I was a shy pimply teenager and my godmother always got some kind of face lotion for me as a present. And I was always like "Mommmm, is there any polite way to hint her the best presents for me are art supplies? 8["
I guess Keener still gets it worse that both of us because in his case it's a CLEAR HINT.
