Thank you so much! I've written Gina before but never like this, and it appears that everything I intended came across, which is such a relief that I'm fairly flailing with joy. These Cylons were tossed into the fray with such naivete and idealism and the idea that everything got so horrible for Gina is just devastating.

I thought the fact that she finds comfort and security in the nuclear bomb both painful and very true to her character.

I was really worried about how this would come across- obviously Gina is not well, but I didn't want to disrespect her and make her look unhinged or anything. Poor Gina has been through enough.

Thank you so much for reading! <3

I knew what you meant! I'm sorry it didn't come across very clearly in my comment. Gina finally has the upper hand in this situation, as much as she can, anyway. Poor little lamb.

To me, that was the biggest bombshell in The Plan, the idea that it's very possible that the Cylons had no concept of the fact that you could love something after it was gone. (It's stunning to me because IMO it really shows that the majority of them had no idea the magnitude of what they were doing because they couldn't conceptualize it, but I digress.)

I'm really glad I sold someone on Cain/Gina- I hate shipping it, because it's so miserable and really unrewarding, but oh god, is it ever rich with angst and tragedy. It's no where near close to perfect, but I truly believe that there was a lot of emotion between those two.

Thank you so much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

oh, poor baby! This makes me so sad for her... and how she can't stop loving Helena despite all the horribeness she endured. :(

Lovely fic!

Isn't it the worst? Not only does it turn out that you can still love someone after they die, but apparently you can keep loving someone after they viciously betray you. What is this hell?

Thank you for reading, Liz!

This is wonderfully lyric. It's clear how fractured Gina's mind has become after all the trauma she went through. And the Atwood quotation is lovely!

Isn't the Atwood quote ridiculously apt? I saw it and I was like, yeah, this works. And thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

HEY HEY BECAUSE I DIDN'T COMMENT ON THIS YET - *clings* You hurt my heart, but in a good way. Love Gina's stream of consciousness here, things like this:

No. That doesn't sound like Helena.

the way there's something that always feels *off* in the fantasy/memory that she can't quite grab onto.

I love the way you explored her hesitance to shoot Cain in Razor vs. her certainty of it later. I Cannot with this ship but I really *want* to get it from Gina's side, and you gave those moments and Gina's feelings so much depth here.

LOVE how she finds comfort in the nuke, just knowing the power of it like a destructive little security blanket. Also love everything with Baltar.

Gaius stands too close when he visits. He holds her hands with moist, anxious palms, his hands heavy and his soul in his eyes.

If that isn't the most repellent and pathetic thing I've ever read at the same time. ;___; I think her reaction to him is so dead-on.

*clings*

I was worried that the way things were always off would be way too "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" but I really like the end product? IDK!

but I really *want* to get it from Gina's side, and you gave those moments and Gina's feelings so much depth here.

IMMENSE PERSONAL VICTORY. When I was talking to you about this fic, it didn't occur to me until later to warn you about the AHC aspect of it, because to me it was so Gina-centric first and everything else was secondary, even though her relationship with AHC is an integral part. The important thing to me is her feelings and her thoughts and the way the Cavils totally frakked her (and all the other Cylons) over. I'm glad it at least helped you with Gina's side of it?

like a destructive little security blanket.

That's exactly it! 'It's there, and it can kill SO MANY OF Y'ALL WHENEVER I WANT, SUCK IT, HUMANS.' Poor little thing.

I think her reaction to him is so dead-on.The sad thing is that, you know, Gaius is way too into her specifically because he has no idea ( ... )
