Yes, he's no longer suffering. That's what I tried to tell Felix, too. He took it very hard. He wasn't even particularly fond of Grandpa, who was no longer able to play or joke or do puzzles with him, but he knew him as an entity who belonged to the family, and the fact that he is gone forever does pose a big problem. Felix feels this (like everything) very much, and we had a long, difficult talk about mortality yesterday evening before Felix could sleep. Julian is a lot less affected, although I suspect he's going to pick up a lot of cues from Felix, as he always does.
Das tut mir sehr Leid für dich und deine Familie. Auch wenn es sich über einen langen Krankheitsverlauf hinweg angebahnt hat, eine schmerzende Lücke bleibt trotzdem zurück.
