I have a good feeling about this

March is almost upon us.
Because a lot of really important stuff is happening in March [3019 TA] in The Lord of the Rings, the Anglophone Tolkien fandom traditionally celebrates "Back to Middle-earth Month" in March. Because this is the year of The Hobbit, this year it's a Hobbit event ( Read more... )

happy thoughts, b2mem, fanfic, fandom = srs bizns, tolkien, writing

I usually was like that for at least three-six months after a baby was born. I would then go back to work kicking and screaming and oddly enough the energy/creativity spike followed the move back into the wide world.

I am looking forward to this one too. I am trying to imagine how to juggle this stuff without a spread sheet! That will be fun. I am not even sure how many cards I have, but a lot.

Haha, glad I'm not the only one! But... wait... you mean this doesn't just happen with the first baby? *flails*

I guess you'll have to check all your cards individually... or borrow Mirach's sheet, of course. ;)

In order to be prepared a little better, I made a spreadsheet* on which I listed all prompts to a number, and sorted them according to which might go together, and noted down any story ideas that I got just from reading those prompts (the instant plotbunnies, so to say). There are several combinations that hit it off at once, which is great, and several which I think can be incorporated with my current WiPs, which is likewise great. Some, I think, can be combined with some effort. Of course, there are also prompts that give me no idea at all. Or inspiration may strike suddenly - who knows!

Hey, you are organised... I should do the same or I'll lose track!

Bleedover from my lenghty forays at university. I enjoyed researching but procrastinated actually starting to write. Organising my research so that, when I couldn't possibly procrastinate no more, I could more or less just write stuff down one thing after the other. Saved many a paper. (Took me several semesters to figure out, in which no papers were finished (a.k.a. The Wasted Years). I still have the research though... >_>)

16 cards is overboard? XD I've got 45. I calculated, that's an average of 15 prompts per day. I'm gonna die. But there were just so many cards making me think they could be useful for yet to be written parts of WIP fics, like you said (and I've got far too many of those XD).

So excited, too! Will it start already?!

I'm still trying to decide if I should thank you for it or creep into your house and tie all of your shoelaces together. *glances at her (up to now) 5k worth of used May 1st prompts*

Luckily for you the second option would require me to travel there and I don't have time for that. I need to go and take care of those 10 prompts I have left for today.

Pffff. You're doing great so far, so you should be thanking me. I accept cookies, cake, or socks. ;)
