Next year, I'll probably start attending Martinmas parades again. That I'm actually looking forward to - Martinmas was one of my favourite feasts as a child, but alas, ( Read more... )

"Zadok the Priest"? XDD I imagine "Zadok the Priest" was chosen because it's (a) classical and (b) out-of-copyright.

Looking forward to the picspam. :)

Yeah, but seriously! It's got English lyrics! And it's about 220 years too early! And it's just too well-known - there must be hundreds of out-of-copyright classical festive tunes that wouldn't have way too many people go "Wait, I know this".

I'm tempted to assume that "Zadok the Priest" was chosen because it's a coronation anthem, and clearly all Europe will choose the same anthem for all coronations. In any century. ;)

I do still want my art. But I do remember you wanted a prompt or request. I am still thinking. I wanted to chose something which matched your beautiful style. You are very unique. I like your sense of costuming. Maybe Finrod in Doriath? If that doesn't stir any inspiration let me know.

He is not going to remember those shots! Not for another year or so at least. Then he will complain, but even then he will take it out on the doctor and not you! I just love it when people pass on their conventional wisdom about child-raising, at best half-fact and half-old-wives' tales. I assume you are able to discard anything like that I might say when it does not suit you! Usually being true to oneself and knowing one's own child is the best guide.

You can forego the request, of course, but then you might end up with something you don't care for. ;) Finrod in Doriath? Sure, I can come up with something for that. Still, some more info would be helpful. Would you rather have him interact with someone, or admire the scenery, for instance? Again, you don't have to say something, but that means you'll leave such important decisions to me. (Mwahahah.)

I know he isn't going to remember, but I expect he won't enjoy them while they happen... >_> To be fair, my aunt has raised (well, is still raising) two daughters of her own, so there is experience involved and it isn't just conventional blathering! It still isn't my way though. ^^

Hah, you did more elfy things than I. Instead I ran off to the store to buy candy to avoid more hungry looking children with paper lanterns for st. Martins. Of course, I ended up eating most of it myself as by the time I was home again, most of the kiddies were already back home. There is a reason why I don't normally buy candy, once you start... -__- The better strategy would probably have been either hiding or not forgetting, haha.

I had no idea you were Qitian on dA! I have to agree with oshun, the costuming is very nice.

Also I am apparently a bad European. I never even heard of the other Borgia series, though I like the American one for the most part.

Yeah, I'm a woman of many names! At the SWG I'm Lyra, on LJ I'm Olóriel, on dA I'm Qitian; to Facebook I do not go... ;)

I don't think not knowing the other series makes you a bad European. I'd probably never have heard of it if it hadn't been aired just a few weeks ago. It was reasonably nicely done (if a bit slow-paced in parts), and because I saw it first, I'm probably considering it the "original" version. If the air-times had been reversed, who knows, I might like the American better! It's not like I actually dis like it, for that matter, I just don't like it that much - so far. Mind you, I've only seen one episode as yet!
