On the subject of Parenting and the TV

I just read on CNN that a representative from virginia is suggestying a bill that would ban Erectile Disfunction (ED) adds from airing between 6AM and 10PM.  Effectivly regulating them to the same broadcast catagory as phone sex line comercials.  The reason he cited was that "people" don't want there kids watching these commercials and asking what ( Read more... )

But then they could only interfere with protect their kids. What about all those *other* kids who need protecting? What about all those bad parents out there who might *gasp* educate their children? About... about... sex? Who's going to save those little children?

The GOP wants people to remain completely clueless about sex until they're married (virgins), then have to have all the kids the woman can physically stand to have (and perhaps more) because birth control, condoms, and emergency contraception are frowned upon. Of course, the GOP is also generally unwilling to pay for the corresponding prenatal care, child care, education, health insurance, etc.

Heaven forbid our country engage in rationale discussions about sexual function and birth control.
