I have heard that quote both ways and can't be bothered to find out what the "official" version is. Actually, in my case, maybe it should be "No rest for the wickedly weary ( Read more... )

*fall down from exhaustion after just READING your post*

First, welcome back to the New World. Can we still call it that after its recent troubles?

Second, I love little kid basketball. It's adorable. So have a great time!

Third, HURRAY for "outstanding". After all you've done, I think you need an "outstanding plus".

Fourth, I love salsa. It's infectious.

Fifth, I am on my knees giving thanks that I don't have to fly on helicopters ... especially ones that are "found" and put in rotation after others have issues.

Sixth, I have a work Christmas party tonight for my husband, so I feel your pain.

Seventh, enjoy your sleep. You have certainly earned it!

The basketball game was a blast! Before the game my grandson's coach likened coaching the group of 5-6 year olds to "herding cats." After the game started it was more like two herds of cats stampeded! Much laughing was enjoyed by all spectators! My grandson's team won in a tight contest as well, 16-12. :)

It is kind of nice from time-to-time to see that my efforts are not only noticed, but also recognized! It has been a long time since any one called me a role model. :) now if they would just pay me what I think I'm worth. *grin*

Mayhaps you can request a separate salary review in a couple months. You're certainly deserving, and they know it :)

They may know it, but the company is Norwegian with all of the intense union and socialism that follows from being based in Norway. Without getting promoted beyond my current position (which doesn't even have a ratified job description yet!) I will cap out at the top of my job level in the new year. The pay scales are based on seniority in positions with a cap at 10 years, so I may be finding myself at the "top of my game" for raises other than cost of living adjustments. Of course I could always take a different position, but I am not sure I want to move to Houston, Oslo, London, or any of the other office locations just to chase a higher paycheck.
