Okay, assuming your presentation of your work wasn't some shoddy last-minute job, I'd say you have serious grounds to at least talk to your advisor about an appeal. Someone, somewhere, is missing the point.

meaningful art is more valuable than honors. of course, it would've been better if they appreciated the first and let you have the second, but it means a lot that you know how to value your own art.
