Ever since I was itty bitty I've wanted this to happen. First I clung to Belle because she had brown hair, and I kind of had brown hair. Plus she liked to read, and I like French. Then I clung to Jasmine, because she was sort of my color, and she was Muslim. Plus hse was sassy and able to have love on her own terms. Now I finally get to have Maddy.

Or that she's too black. Honestly I think it might help if they just color her in a medium sort of brown. That way no one can complain...sort of.

Plus it'll be interesting to see how Disney works with Black physical politics. Her hair, her eyes, her nose, her lips. She's going ot be he most scrutinized Princess of them all.

Me? I don't care. I'm excited that it's set during one of the best periods in American history. Score!

Oh yes. The color pallate is going to send me over the fucking moon. I can just see rich golds, purples and greens. I hope she wears a Mardi Gras inspired ballgown. Muhaha.

And think of all the merch that's going to sell like fucking hotcakes. I mean little girls, their mothers and possibly their grandmothers will be buying it up since they've been waiting for forever. Dolls, shirts, etc. Then all the other girls will be excited to have a new Princess to their retinue.

Oh, I REALLY like that design. That veil is delightful, and what I can see of the style is intriguing. Is it possible that Disney is going to get their act together after all these years? The eleven-year-old in me is having a fit of joy right now.
